小島麻由美って誰？どんな曲歌ってるの？なんていう小島初心者にも、他のCDなら持ってるんだけど...という小島をちょっとだけ知ってる方にもみんなにおすすめ！レトロ風味な曲にキュ-トでほのかに色っぽい彼女の歌声。20曲も入っててもう大満足です。全部おすすめなんだけど、あえて挙げるとしたら結婚相談所、ショ-トケ-キのサンバかな。twist no.1もかわいい！有名にならないのが不思議なくらいです。

2000 年にリリースされた小島麻由美の ベストアルバム。
正確にはシングル集＋未発表曲で、1st.シングル曲→そのC/W→2nd.シングル曲→そのC/W ・・・と
順番に並んでいます。で、最後の <17> - <21> が未発表曲です。

時代的には初期の３枚のアルバム（いわゆるセシルシリーズ）に相当しますが、アルバムには未収録
の曲や、シングルとアルバムでアレンジの異なるもの（<6>「ショートケーキのサンバ」） もありますので、
『コジマユの音源は全部聴きたい』←→『でもシングルまでは集めきれない・・・』という方には最適な一枚
だと思います。
もちろん、小島麻由美を知らない方に導入として聴いてもらうのにも適していると思います。このアルバム
はシングルのリリース順に並んでますので、前半にラインナップされている初期の溌剌（はつらつ）と
した曲やキュンとくる曲などが気に入れば、初期コジマユを象徴するキャラクターであるセシルが颯爽
と登場した 1st.アルバム 『セシルのブルース』以降を追っていけばいいですし、後半の <11>「セシル
カットブルース」や <13>「真夜中のパーティー」のしっとりとした曲調がお好みならこのベスト盤の翌年
にリリースされた 4th.アルバム 『my name is blue』 以降に進むのがいいかと思われます。
（本当は（個人的には）このベストアルバムではなくて、上記1st. と 4th. の２枚のアルバムをもって入門
編としたいとこなんですけどね・・・）

なんと言っても21曲入りという曲数が嬉しい。リリースされていない未発表曲も含んでいるから、既発のCD全てを持っているという豪気なファンも買うしかない、という感じである。エディターレビューにあるとおり、一曲目から聴いていくと、だんだん彼女の声が「濃く」なっていくのがわかっておもしろい。今から思えばサワヤカにすら感じる「結婚相談所」が、今でもやっぱり大好きなナンバーで、対照的に小島色120％の「ぱぶろっく」にも一聴でヤラレてしまった。「マイモンキーはブルー」のシリーズ篇とでもいうべき「マイモンキーの里帰り」には愛らしいのにブラックなニュアンスが溢れているし、要するに小島嬢はそのディスコグラフィーの何時においても素晴らしいということなんでした。
