   1995年から1年間放送されたガンダムシリーズの一作。前作「機動武闘伝Gガンダム」に続き、本作も従来の「機動戦士」シリーズとは異なる世界観に基づいている。
   アフターコロニー195年。地球圏統一連合が軍事力でスペースコロニーを制圧。それに対抗し、一部のコロニー居住者がオペレーション・メテオと呼ばれる反乱作戦を開始。主人公の少年・ヒイロもその中でガンダムに搭乗し、地球へと落ちる。そして事情を知らぬまま彼にひかれていく少女・リリーナ。コロニー、地球対宇宙移民、仮面をつけたライバルなど、ガンダムならではのアイテムを散りばめながらも、続々と登場する美少年キャラと、非常にハードなストーリー展開で幅広いファン層を獲得した作品。TV版の後日談もOVA及び映画で発表された。（田中　元）

ストーリーの終盤なので戦闘シーンが多いです。
それぞれの思惑が戦場でぶつかり合います。
ドロシーさんまで参戦しちゃいます。
カトルとドロシーが終盤戦うシーンがあるんですが、
そこがすごく好きですね。優しいカトルが大好きです。
あとヒイロの笑顔（？）らしきものも見ることができます。
「お前を殺す！」って言ってた子がここまで成長するとは・・。
やっぱ皆さんのおっしゃるとおり「俺は死なない！」
っていうのもいい。

あと、この巻に映像特典としてノンテロップのＯＰとＥＤがついてるんです。
それにこの巻の大判解説書はほかのとちょっと書き方が違っていたので思わず笑ってしまいました。

放映当時は小学生でガンダムとかも全然知らなくて、
高校のときにＷを見てはまったんですが、
今見直してみても普通に面白いですね。
結構奥深い話だったなあと思えるし。

なんにせよ他のガンダムにない、
主人公が軍に所属しないテロリストってのが
一番の見所であると思います。

絵にだまされて腐女子の見るものだとか言ってる人いますが、
全然違いますよ。見てくれればわかります。
現に私の周りの男性もＷ面白いって言ってますから。
絵にだまされて見ないのは損してると思いますよ。

このＤＶＤの特典であるパンフレットに書かれていて初めて知ったのだが、当時「ヒイロを始めとする五人の少年達が生き残るのはストーリー上おかしい、死ぬべきだった、」などの声があったらしい。
おそらくはアンチＷ、見ず嫌いの方々だったのだろうが、自分達が命をかけ守ってきたコロニーに裏切られ、敗北を重ねながらも、自爆をも省みず戦い続けた少年達に、「死ぬべき」などと言うのはそれこそ物語的に救いが無さ過ぎる。それ以前に、彼らの必死に足掻き戦う姿を見た上で言ったならば、その人の人間性を疑ってしまう。
有名すぎるシーンだが、「自分の命なんて安いもの」なんて言っていたヒイロが「おれは死なない！」と叫ぶシーンは、さすがに目頭が熱くなる。
是非多くの人に観て頂きたい作品。

この作品のテーマは「常に一人だった少年の人とのふれあい」でしょう。
ただ感情も無く任務を遂行するだけだった主人公が他のガンダムのパイロットや
ヒロイン、ライバルとうと接触するにつれて人間らしい感情を芽生えさせていき、
自らの意思を持った、人の心に影響をもたらすことの出来る行動をするようになります。
この作品は一話一話が非常にスピーディーに進み、他のガンダムシリーズとうに
みられる中盤でのグダつきも無く、物語は二転三転していきますが、
理解しにくいドロついた人間ドラマなどは無く、飽きずに見続けることかできます。
