退廃した男女関係と売り買いされる愛情、まさに無機質の極みでしょうか。しかもこの作品を見た男性の多くは「あんなふうに女を扱ってみたい」といった憧れに似た妄想を抱くことでしょう。ただ個人的には女性に見てもらいたい作品でもあります。高級住宅街をさまよう主人公（コールガール）の気持ちは女性の方が敏感に同調できるはず。原作の意図を見事に映像化した作品として推薦します。

5.0 out of 5 stars ”灰色の都市”の裏側に閉じ込められた”熱”, 2008/1/1
元々小説が原作だが、この作品は、それ以上のパワーが織り込まれていると言っていいと思う。ヴェルディの曲をアレンジした坂本龍一の曲と、ロス・バンバンという、キューバのサルサバンドの1曲”ジェゲジェゲ”が、この作品で使用されている。
主人公は、「自分には全く才能が無い。」と思い込んでる、”手話”を密やかな生甲斐としている”コールガール”だ。
彼女は、その職業柄、様々な異常な性癖を持つ”偏執狂者”と遭遇することになる。
自分と愛人との繋がった間を舐めろという客、首を絞めてイカせてくれとうい客、死姦が最期の自分の夢だという、一見温和だが、吐き気がするような金持ちの客、金持ちのマゾヒスト社長を餌として、富を貪って来たプライド高いＳＭの女王（亀吉！のシーンは必見である･･･。）

私は、ＳＭにも変態にもあまり興味が無いのだが、この作品に強く惹かれた原因に、人間が肉体の奥底に否応無く抱えている抗い難い”欲望”に、正確なスポットライトを当てたという監督の上手さを挙げる。それは正しく「この血はね、昔、最初に陸に上がった魚が流した血と、同じ血なの。」とのＳＭ女王の独白にあるように、”進化”への欲望でもある。

”血”は、私たちの今日の生存に至るまで、唯の一度も途絶えたことは無い。それは、私達の生存自体がそのことを明確に証明している。その”血”の中に眠る”熱”が、この精密に建築された現代の”都市”と拮抗している。灰色の無機質な建造物の裏側に閉じ込められた”熱”を、村上龍は、実に上手く抉じ開けて、我々に見せつけてくれる。

普通の人にとっては、本作は、非常にセクシャルで刺激の強い内容であり、途中で観るのをすら止めてしまうだろう。だが、観る人が観れば、その奥底にある本質的な”熱”を感じることができるだろう。

最後に”忘れられない人”を求めて彷徨い歩き、ボロボロになり、”マトモな人達”に後ろ指をさされる主人公を観て、あなたはどう思うだろうか？　
少なくとも私は、”美しい”と思った。

ザラザラとした触感が伝わってくる映像に思わず引き込まれる。
村上龍の小説を本人自ら映画化した作品。
世間一般の評価は低いのは薄っぺらな映像とわざとらしいテ-マのためだろう。
西新宿の薄っぺらい高層ビル郡と対照的な泥臭いセックス描写。
如何にデカダンを撮ろうとしても所詮日本人にはフランス映画のようなデカダンは撮れない。

村上は当然それを分かった上であえてその描写に挑戦し失敗している。
だが其処が好い、それこそがデカダンだ。
この映画は、映画としてはデカダンを描けず失敗しているが、デカダンそのものを作品自体で体現してみせた奇妙な作品である。
