多分電気グルーヴファンの多くが、このVITAMINを一位にあげると思います。スティングレイ~スノウ・アンド・ダヴまでは本気のテクノです。そして最後にN.Oが入っているのもいいです。歌詞が素晴らしい。

当時はアシッドテクノ全盛の時代だったので、それを反映してShinkansenが収録されています。この曲は石野卓球が本気でアシッドテクノを作った傑作です。緊張感に満ちてグングン突き進みながらも、コーラスの五島の声と波の音がまた気持ちいいです。このCDでテクノに興味を持った人は相当いるはず（僕もその一人です）。

電気グルーヴの凄さは音楽性もさることながら、その立ち振る舞いすべてが革新的だということだと思う。
(「電気グルーヴのオールナイトニッポン」で人生踏み外した連中の数は少なくないはずだ)

このアルバムをリリースしようとしたときソニーの上層部から「インストが多すぎ」というクレームがついて揉めたと言われているが、
今あのとき電気が折れずにリリースを強行してくれたことに心から感謝している。
頭の固い奴なんて最初から対象にしてないんだから、理解できなくてもしょうがない。

ソニーとの折り合いをつけるため渋々収録したM10「N.O.」は最も好きな曲であり、僕の人生のアンセムだ。
「真面目に生きろ」「明るく振舞え」「異性にモテろ」を押し付けて、それ以外を全否定するポップスが全てにしか思えなかったあの頃に、
自分のネガティヴさを肯定しつつ破壊してくれたこの曲に感謝する。
今でも僕の人生のBGMとして無限ループでかかり続けている。

バカと本気が入り混じった名盤。

最近、某動画サイトで、1993年頃の電気のANNを聴いていたら
「ニセモノ・フーリガン」が流れ、かつてない衝撃が！！
「SINGLES and STRIKES」しか持っていなかったのですが、
慌てて入手して、こりゃあ名盤だなと思いました。
コミックソングから本気のテクノに移行する過渡期のアルバムなのかな。
私は卓球のボーカルが本気で好きなので、
「Happy Birthday」「ハイキング」「フェイク・フーリガン」
など、歌モノはホントにイイ！気持ちがいい！
一方のインストもかっこいい。これは本気の部分。
「Snow and Dove」などはその後の電気につながるところでしょうか。
テクノとかエレクトロあまり詳しくないですが、
これは何度聴いても飽きない。間違いなく名盤。
