「LOVEマシーン」・「恋のダンスサイト」路線をさらに押し進めた末にリリースされたのが、この「ハッピーサマーウェディング」である。勢いに乗って、結婚式の定番ソングにでもなってくれればと、色気を出したような曲で、ジャケットを見ても、曲を聴いても、完全にイロモノグループに堕したと言う感じである。このシングルリリースから４日後に市井が卒業するのだが、彼女のソロ活動から推測すると、彼女にとってこれがモーニング娘。のラストシングルとなってしまったのは非常に不本意だったではないかと思う。カップリング曲の「通学列車」は、中学生あたりの気持ちを歌った曲であるが、27才間近の中澤は、どんな思いでレコーディングに望んだのであろうか？　これがデビューシングルとなった石川、吉澤、辻、加護以外に、思い入れを抱いているメンバーはいないのではないかと思えるようなシングルである。

ご案内させていただきます。典型的なMedia-mix系group。んじゃ音楽的にはどうなんでしょ、イントロ部アレンジ（シタール＋インド風）は「速度を遅くすると」洋楽のある楽曲に酷似、おそらく○ッグ○ントリー＋スカサウンドかも。また、おちゃらけボーカルも随所に聞けるが、それらの仕掛けが成功しているとは言えないと思われ。途中中間部のブラスアレンジは面白いようでいて面白みがないと思われ。１曲目は盛り上げディスコパターンだが、ベースパターンが伴奏マシーンに入っているプリセットみたいでげんなり。２曲目はありがちなアレンジでスタート＝おそらく＝○イシー○レー＝だと思われ。あいかわらずな歌謡曲のパターン＝バックのオケがかなり洋楽とおんなじレベルにありながら、ボーカルが貧弱なために＝全体がだいなしに＝なパターンに着地。このような洋楽R&BまたはHIPHOPをうまくかっぱらい、移植していく手法はいいのだが、果たしてこのアプローチつまり＝低年齢層ライトユーザーを刺激していきながら自転車操業で連続リリースしていくことが日本の音楽を豊かにしていくのだろうか？？答えは否であるといわざるをえないと思われ。中途半端な茶番劇＝（エンターテイメント）は厳しいのでは。（２点）
