中島みゆきさんの提供曲オムニバス集のなかでは一番バラエティがあると思います。「あばよ」「この空を飛べたら」「髪」「ルージュ」などみゆきさん自身の最初のセルフカバー曲集「おかえりなさい」時代の名曲の元歌や根津さんの「ピエロ」なんかが聴けて嬉しかった。また工藤静香さんのアルバム収録曲の「そのあとは雨の中」も名曲です。まだまだ工藤さんのアルバムに提供した（詞だけも含む）曲も多いので、このシリーズを続けてほしいです。

　みゆきさんは積極的に、かつかなりバラエティーに富んだ相手に作品を提供している。それが確認できるこのシリーズは面白い。

　しかしながら、実のところ、作品をしっかり歌いこなして「自分のものにしている」のは、ソングライブラリー６作品（ベストを含む）の中で、研ナオコさんとちあきなおみさんだけである。そして、１，２，３に両者が並び立っているが、その中でも白眉なのはこの２。ナオコさんの歌の上手さ・芸域の広さは周知の通りだが、ちあきさんの「ルージュ」はその後みゆきさんがセルフカバーした際に影響を及ぼしたほど歌いこなしている、との評もある。正直他の人は（加藤登紀子さんでさえ）「中島みゆき」という壁を越えていないし、みゆきさんのセルフカバーがある作品については最早「完敗」、である（なんなら「この空を飛べたら」を聴き比べてみればいい。歴然とした差がわかるはずだ）。
　
　「中島みゆき」を歌いこなすことがどれだけ困難かは、「辛いときは中島みゆきを聴きながら思いっきり泣く」とファンであることを公言している和田アキ子さんがこれまで全くアプローチしていないことからもわかる。ＴＯＫＩＯ（長瀬君）もテレビ番組で中島バージョンの「宙船」を聴いて「いやー、全然迫力が違いますね。」と脱帽していた。それほどまでに「中島みゆき」の壁は厚く、高い。今後もみゆきさんの作品を歌う人が出てくるだろうが、きちんと消化・昇華されたアルバムは研＆ちあきのご両人が入っているアルバムだけ、そして、その中で最もクオリティの高いのが本盤であろう。それ故に貴重な記録である。
