普通に生活していて思ったり感じたりする様な物事。例えば何気ない「退屈だなあ」とか「幸せだなあ」という気分や感情、景色や風景を見て「綺麗だなあ」とか「なんか懐かしいなあ」思う感慨とかは言葉にすると非常に陳腐に感じられて、実際に感じた「想い」の質量には到底適わない。誰でもが分かっているだけに、今さら言葉にする必要など無いし、ましてやそれを歌や音楽にするなんて。

誰でも簡単に出来そうなのに出来なかった事が、音楽的にも高度な形で表されている事。この作品が発表されて5年が経過した今でもそれがこのアルバムの最大のマジックだと思う。僕の稚拙な表現で説明するよりも、まずは聴いてもらいたい。その深みのある音像と音響には聴くほどに魅了されるし、言葉とビートが寄り添って耳の奥に入り込み頭の中で色々な景色を写し出す様な感覚は他に無い音楽的な体験だと思う。星は取りあえず5つだけど、星の数で推し量れるような作品ではない。

アルバム単位で見れば、個人的にはこの作品が彼らの最高傑作だと感じます。
今までの躍動感、そしてどこか隙のある構えのままで向かえた音楽的成熟の成果。
ロック・ポップスだけでなく、ダブ・レゲエ・ヒップホップ等黒人音楽
に精通していた彼らだったからこそ成しえた浮遊感と芯のある音。
およそ流行に消費されるだけの曲たちから遙か彼方に在る音作り、
それでいてそういった流行歌よりポップで心に焼きつく素晴らしいメロディ。
「ずっと前」の最初のギターが鳴り響いた瞬間に、心の中の張り詰めた
線がたゆんでゆく感覚をおぼえます。
中でも特筆すべきは「ナイトクルージング」。異常なほどに音が濃密で、
完全な別世界を構築してます。ベースのグルーヴ感も他の曲より際立っている。
どこまでも続く夜の散歩・・・情感の塊のような曲です
（「SEASON」同様ロングバージョンを出してほしかったと僕は思いました）。
どこまでも優しく、悲しみも分け合うことができる音楽。変な言い方ですが、
僕はフィッシュマンズを聴くと「こんな素敵な友達がいればなあ」とよく思います。

非常にちっぽけで、退屈な日常と、それに伴う小さな変化を深淵なダブサウンドでパッケージングした歴史的名作。
ゆれる音、響く音、はじける音、全ての音ひとつひとつが、まるで魂を持っているかのようなきらめき。
普段の何気ない日常を繰り返し、時折ちっぽけな変化を繰り返しながら進んでいく僕らのようなアルバム。

音楽の力とはかくも偉大なものなのです。
