ラストシングルの「恋人宣言」を除く、全１６曲のＡ面を集めたシングル集。「恋はライライライ」「哀しみのポエジー」等全くヒットしなかた曲も、いざ聴いて見ると知っている曲だったりする。

当時「レッツゴーヤング」のレギュラーで頑張ってました。また「ナイン」の主題歌＆声優で持ち直した頃に充電のための休養。そしてあの事件・・・。今だったら逆にスキャンダルを利用して這い上がろうとするタレントもいるが、彼女はそうではなかった。

倉田まり子さんはNHKレッツゴーヤングで3年間レギュラーなど結構テレビに出ていて人気も高かったのだが、すべての人の記憶に残るような大ヒットには恵まれなかったので、今となって彼女の曲をどこかで耳にする機会はまず無いのが寂しいところです。だからこそ聴いてみたいという気になるので貴重なディスク。デビュー時の記憶だと澄んだ声でのびやかに歌うイメージだったけど、けっこう色々な曲調に挑戦している。意外と艶やかな声だったんですね。

曲の題名「HOW! ワンダフル」「グラジュエイション」や「荒井由実」の名前などに誤記があることや、ライナーノーツは歌詞だけで、表紙以外に写真が無いので、シングル盤ジャケット写真一覧くらい載せてほしいというのが不満。それと、どうせならあと1曲だからシングル17曲全部入れてほしかった。単に音源を再発するだけならネットダウンロード販売でもできるんで、CDとして発売するならそういう点にも気を配ってほしいです。

懐かしの美人アイドル、倉田まり子さんの魅力満載のベストCDコレクションです。デビュー曲「グラジュエイション」をはじめ、１９７９年日本歌謡大賞最優秀新人賞を受賞した名曲「HOW！ワンダフル」、作詞：秋元康、作曲：オフコースの松尾一彦で話題になった「避暑地の出来事」、アニメ「ナイン」の主題歌となった「真夏のランナー」、「青いフォトグラフ」等など、聞き逃せない曲ばかりです。
　往年のまり子ファンだけでなく、現役時代のまり子さんを知らない若い世代の方々にもぜひ聴いてもらいたいCDです。
