この作品、カウボーイビバップのサントラのリミックスということですが、アルバムとしてはエレクトロニカ~ハイテクジャズのコンピレーションとして質の高いものだと思います。
（その意味ではカウボーイビバップのサントラとして聴くと期待外れなのかもしれません。）

リミクサー陣は見ての通りですが、まあ豪華としかいいようのないメンバーですよね。
Ian O'Brienのリミックスは同時期に発表されたGigantic Daysやその後のA History Of Things To Comeといったアルバムを予見させるテックジャズであるし、オリジナルも素晴らしくスピリチュアルなSpace LionのリミックスがDegoだという人選からして想像されるように見事なブロークンビーツに仕上がってます。
意外なのがIan Pooleyのリミックスで彼の得意とするテッキーなハウスではなく、軽いタッチのボッサジャズ風なリミックスになってます。
他のLuke Vibert、Fila Brazillia、Mr. Scruff、DJ Vadimについては、それぞれ普段通りのカラーと実力を出しているなあという感想です。

URのかの名作、Jupiter Jazzを作品タイトルにひっぱってきていた渡辺監督、慧眼が光る名作、といったところでしょうか。

原作知りません。もちろん他のサントラも全く知りません。

DowntempoやIDM、Ambientその他けっこう良質なエレクトロニカを聴かせるサンフランシスコ拠点のネットラジオ"SomaFM"で流していたので知りました。

どうもこの作品について賛否両論のようですが、↑感覚で聴くとかなり良いとしかいえないです。MC挟んでいるのも◎です。
Chill Outって言ってもいいかもしれません。夜や休日、部屋に流してまったり過ごしたいようなアルバムです。
