私の好きな歌は「Komm,susser Tod」です。
劇場番では、挿入歌として主に全ての生物（人間）がLCLに変化する時に
使われています。
綺麗な歌声とは裏腹に歌詞の意味とのギャップが大きく、
そこがツボなのだと思います。

嬉し悲しいような、そんな感情が感じられる良い曲です。

どの曲をとってみても、映画のシーンと完全にマッチしている。

特によくできているな、と感心したのが「偽りの再生」だ。

幼児期まで退行し、母に守られているという万能感を
得ることで復活しようとするアスカに対して現実は再び
試練を与える。
そして「空しき流れ」のシーンで根拠無き万能感は破壊される。
まさしく偽りの再生だったのだ。

ほとんど個人的解釈だが、こういった庵野氏の深い精神世界の
表現をサントラを通して理解していく作業が面白かった。

これはただのアニメ映画のサントラＣＤとは呼べない代物だと思う。大体の曲においてかなりの重圧感を持たせているので迫力がある。そして一番評価したいのは、多くの曲が絶望や不安などをイメージさせる中に、１・２曲だけ重圧から開放された自由・希望をもたせるものが含まれてること。重い曲の中に埋もれそうになっているからこそ、逆にそういった希望的な曲も輝いてくる。

＜アニメ＞という固定観念を取り払えば、誰にとっても印象に残る音楽だと思う。
