ジャズには、以前から興味はありましたが、あまりにも奥が深そうで、なかなか手を出せませんでした｡
そんな時、村上春樹さんと和田誠さんのコラボレート作品である、同タイトルの本があることを知り、CDとともに購入しました｡
結果は…。評価でつけた星５でもお分かりのように、とてもよかったです｡

少し悲しいような、トーンがあり、はじけるようなパッセージもあり。
このCD1枚で、ジャズの懐の深さに少し触れたような気になれました。
自分でこの作品たちにめぐり合うには、たぶん遠回りしすぎて、息切れしていたと思います｡この一枚にめぐり合えたことは、ラッキーだったと思います｡
でも、ちょっとずるいのかもしれません。あまりの近道で｡

ジャズの初心者にも、村上春樹さんの小説が好きな方にもお勧めの１枚です｡

和田誠、村上春樹、お気に入りのジャズですから、悪いはずがありませんね。それはさておき、付属の村上春樹が書いているライナーノーツがとにかくいいです。ジャズにまつわる個人的な逸話です。他では読めない文章ですので、それだけでも価値があります。

古きよき音楽です。このアルバムを聞いていると、不思議なことに
音楽が心臓をゆっくりとあたためてくれているような錯覚に落ち
いります。このアルバムの中では、ビリー・ホリディの曲が
1番好きです。聞けば聞くほどスルメのように味が出てきます。
とにもかくにもぜひ聞いてください。本当に本当におすすめです。
エッセイも泣けますよ。村上春樹さんがまだ作家になる前、
ジャズを聞かせるBARの主人だった頃のお話。とても親密な
雰囲気のアメリカの男性と日本人の女性が定期的にBARに
やってくる。彼はいつも物静かに音楽に身を浸す。そして、
ときどきビリー・ホリディを聞かせて欲しいと注文する。
そしてこらえきれずに涙を漏らす。そんな彼が。。。
って全部書いてしまうと面白くないと思いますので割愛します。
とても素敵なエッセイで私は好きです。
