３部構成のサントラの最後に当たる本CDは、精神面描写音楽集と言っても過言ではない。そして収録曲の大半が陰鬱さや不気味さを表現しているので、エヴァを知らない人はエヴァサントラ１から段階を追って聴かれる事を推奨する。
しかし、逆を言えばしっかりと腰を据えて聴くべき物と言え、無論音楽的な完成度も高い。

聴き手に主張を押し付けない様な抽象的な曲が多い為、聴くだけで得体の知れないものを感じたり、神秘的な情景が眼前に浮かぶのはこのCDならではであり、力を感じられるだろう。人間の弱さ、醜さ、凶暴さ、そして優しさや美しさと言ったものが良く現れている。
また、FLY ME TO THE MOONが12バージョン収録されており、その曲へのスタッフの思い入れが伝わってくる。音楽的にもなかなかのもので、それぞれが確固とした自我を持っており、全く別の曲として成立している。それを聴き分けるだけでも価値がある。

聴き手によって姿を変えていく、具体的な形を持たないかの様な不思議な一枚になっている。そしてこれらの曲は何らかの形で、確実に聴き手の心に残るだろう。

なんとこれ１枚で34曲！ケース裏面の曲名の文字が小さくて視力検査のようです。内容は見ての通り｢FLY ME TO THE MOON｣のオンパレード。｢そんなに月に行きたいのかよ!!｣と思わず叫びたくなりそうな勢いで延々と12曲。でも12曲それぞれに個性があり、歌い手によって(同一人物でも)全く別のものになっています。これは実際に聴き比べてみましょう。また勿論他にもいい曲が揃っています。中でも私が好きなのは#21#22の｢残酷な天使のテーゼ｣の編曲バージョン。TV26話ラストで使用され、ムードに飲まれてすごく切なくなり、思わず涙しそうになりました、ということはくれぐれも内密に。

エヴァの３枚目のサントラです。
曲目を見て分かると思いますが、
FLY ME TO THE MOONが凄い多いです。
が！同じ曲がいっぱいあるだけではない！
FLY ME TO THE MOONとは書いていないが、
６曲目はお薦め！つい心の中で（おお~っ！）って思ってしまった。
もちろん、他のFLY ME TO THE MOONもｲｲ！
ぜひ聴いてみて、
同じ曲でもかなり変わるんだな~って思ってください！
