３部構成のサントラの２枚目である本CDには、エヴァと言う作品における動的な面と静的な面を象徴する曲が収録されており、１枚のディスクとしての充実度は高い。

１枚目では華麗さを前面に押し出していた戦闘音楽に、今回から激しさや哀しさと言った「重さ」が加えられ、聴き手を圧倒する。中でもTHANATOSは白眉で、曲前半の悲壮感漂うメロディの美しさは涙を誘う。そして曲後半は、まるで雲が晴れたかの様な希望にあふれており、ピアノの音色がどこまでも透明だ。まさにディスクの構成そのものが体現されていると言えるだろう。
一方、日常音楽は「夜空」や「安堵」等の静かな曲が多く、澄んだ美しさを堪能できるだろう。戦闘音楽との対比が実に鮮やかだ。
爽快なエヴァサントラ１と違い、聴き終わった後には穏やかな満足感が残る、良い１枚だ。

ＴＨＡＮＡＴＯＳが聴きたくてこのＣＤを購入しました。
とても切なくて心に迫る名曲だと思いました。
Fly me to the moon の歌がいくつかのバージョンで入っていますが、
こちらもそれぞれ素敵なヴォーカルで、うっとりとします。
