Much of the material stems from the legendary Monroe Brothers recordings. Their sublime harmonies carry plaintive ballads including "What Would You Give in Exchange for Your Soul" and "Banks of the Ohio," and uptempo numbers such as "You Won't Be Satisfied That Way." ビル・モンロー(マンドリン、ボーカル)およびドク・ワトソン(ギター、ボーカル)というふたりの巨人による未リリースライブ17曲を収録した貴重なアルバム。このうち16曲は1963年と1966年の間に録音されたもので、最後のものは1980年に、ジミー・カーター大統領のためにホワイトハウスで行われたライブからのものだ。ビル・モンローはブルーグラスの創始者だが、兄チャーリーとの「モンロー・ブラザース」が振り出し。ドク・ワトソンは天才的なフラット・ピッキング・ギター奏者で、まさに夢のような組み合わせだ。"Where Is My Sailor Boy?" "Banks of the Ohio" などにモンロー・ブラザースを彷彿させるものがあるが、独特のベースランニングをしたチャーリーのスタイルを援用せず、独自の奏法を通してるドクのギターはさすがである。
