こんな本があったのかと驚きました。２５０年以上前に書かれた本ですがとても納得いく内容です。
資本主義社会のあるべき姿を指し示そうとした名著とでも言われているのでしょうか？私はこの本の歴史的位置付けはよく分かりませんが、６０~７０年代の若きころマルクスの「資本論」ではなく「フランクリン自伝」を読んだほうが良かったかも（？）と思いました。
その資本主義社会が情報社会によって変容しようとしていますが、富と幸福は人類永遠の望みですから、今もそのまま通用する内容となっています。
ページは少なく中身は濃い「おススメ本」です。

「あなた自身ほど、しばしばあなたを裏切ったものはいるか？」

このコトバが心の琴線に触れたのと、著者がアメリカ建国の父、ベンジャミン・フランクリンであったことからつい衝動買い。

すると、訳者が「ハイブロー武蔵」。あなたの著書にも、少なからず裏切られてきましたよ。。。

良くも悪くもベンジャミン・フランクリンの言葉・格言を並び立てているだけです。

中谷先生の著書よりは遥かに、説得力を持っていますよ。ベンジャミンですから。

フランクリンの成功人生のエッセンスを集めた本。
幸せになる原点、成功する原点、ビジネスの原点がここにある。
あまりにも有名な「13の徳」を身につけていく過程が、ひとをして本当になりたい自分を実現できる道なのだということを発見し、実践したフランクリン。
そして、今もフランクリン・プランナーに発展して多くの人に影響を与えている。時間をかけて習慣にしていく以外に「13の徳」を身につける方法はない。
