「どうしたら人生は楽しくなりますか？」
中学生からの質問がこの本のタイトルになっているのですが、著者の書いている通りひとことで回答することができないような質問ばかり。かと言ってたくさんの言葉を費やせばいいのかというと、彼らの正面からの疑問をはぐらかしそうになるような質問ばかりだと思います。
このような質問は大人も答えることに窮してしまうし、その雰囲気を敏感に察して子ども達も大人を困らせるような質問を避けるようになる。こんなところから家庭内での親子のコミュニケーション、学校内での教師・生徒間でのコミュニケーションが減少しているのだなあと考えさせられます。
この本は現代日本の人間関係とコミュニケーション、人間とその生き方を考える上での入門書として興味深い一冊です。

著者の知識と極めて分かり易い表現法、そして正面から思春期の学生に応えようとする姿勢に正直、焦りと嫉妬を感じた。自分ならこのように答えられるだろうか?そして、このように考えてしまうということは、私自身がこの本を通じて人生で大切なことを教えられ考えさせられたということである。いやいや、40歳半ばにして14歳対象の書籍からこんなにも学ばされるとは恐れ入りました。

子供が悩んで解決したり
親やまわりの大人から学んでゆくはずの
人生についての様々な質問。

いまの社会のなか、家庭の中では、
一人で安心して頑張れない、親やまわりの大人に聞けない
そんな状況になっているのではないでしょうか？

こんなに丁寧に子供の質問に答えてくださった著者に
こころからお礼を申し上げたいと思います。

質問に答えてもらった子供たちは
きっと、こんなふうに人生に希望を持ったと思います。

「きちんと、質問に答えてくれる大人がいる！」



息子の枕元にそっと置いておきましたら、
「僕にもし悩みができたら、この本読んでみる」
と言っていました。
