ジブリ作品で親しんでいるかたに、ぜひ、本の方も読んでいただきたいと思います。

この作品が長く、幅広い年齢層に支持されているのは、ファンタジックな設定の魅力に加え、働くことの本質に触れているからだと思います。

誰かの役に立ちたいと願い、必要とされるしあわせを知り、それを自分の大切な人に認めてもらう・・・・という働くことに関する普遍的な喜びが、魔女のひとり立ちという設定の中で見事に描かれています。苦労しながらも自分の居場所を見つけ、自信をつけてまた次の一歩を踏み出すという循環が、わくわくする物語に織り込まれています。

ですから、子どもたちはもちろん、元気が不足している大人のかたにも読んでいただきたいと思います。きっと少し活力がわいてきます。

小学生の時に友人に借りて読んで、とても好きになりました。
それから数年経って、久々にまた読みたくなってので購入しました。
昔は理解出来なかった部分も大人に分かる様になり、
子供だけじゃなくて大人になってからも楽しめる本だと思います。

映画とはまた違ったキキ(や他の登場人物)の魅力も、またいいですよ。

言わずと知れた、魔女の少女の物語。
何度でも読み返したいし、読み返せる。色あせることがない。
ワクワクやドキドキ、そんな陳腐な言葉だけじゃ表しきれない。

出てくる「魔法」がシンプルで優しいのが良いのだと思う。
ほうきで空を飛ぶ事と、くしゃみの薬をつくること。
人を攻撃してしまうようなものは何もない。
たった２つの魔法で世界が色付くのだから不思議。

昔はたくさんあった魔法は闇がなくなったから消えていった。

そんな背景が現実とつながってる気がする。
たしかに、どこもかしこも明るくて、
闇ってなかなかないな、と考えさせられてしまった。
私たちもたくさんの何かを闇と一緒に失ったはずだ。
もしかしたら「何か」は魔法なのかも・・

シリーズを読み進めていくうちに
キキもジジもトンボさんも少しずつ大人になっていく。
私はジジが離れて行ってしまう日が近づいている気がして少し怖い。

「魔女の血が飛ぶ」
とんぼじゃないけど、ゾクゾクさせられる。
