心理学での、「恋愛」に関する心理傾向・実験例を網羅した内容。同じ図解雑学シリーズで、同じ著者の「人間関係の心理学」とけっこうかぶっている部分があって、内容的にはそっちとかわりない。
ただ、「人間関係の心理学」の方は心理学の入門書にありがちな「人間にはこんな心理があるよ。」といった実験例の羅列ばかりで、「何でそんな心理傾向を人間が持っているの？」「どういう仮説からそんな実験を考えついたの？」という説明がなく不満なところがあった。でもこの「恋愛心理学」では、後半で配偶者選択に関して進化心理学的な根拠に基づくトピックもあって、そういった部分は楽しめた。
とりあえず心理学に興味があって、広くかつ浅く知識を得たいという人にはよいかも。これを読んだ後で更に興味が深まれば、進化心理学系の専門書へ挑戦するのもいいかも。進化心理学における配偶者選択は、もっとシビアで奥深いです。

図解雑学は学問へのイントロダクションには丁度よいです。

普段こういったタイプの本を読んだことがないので、同類の本との比較のしようがないのだが、なんだかわりと楽しめた。
「図解」とされているが、実際にはマンガ付きという感じで、それも気軽に読めた一因だろう。

もっとも、心理学者だけに恋愛というものをかなりドライに捉えている。
小難しいことを抜きに「恋愛テクニック」が知りたい、という人には向いていないかも知れない。
自分としては、そこがむしろ面白かったが。

普通に読んでいて楽しく読めました。
イラストなどもあって分かりやすいです。
きちんとした心理実験に基づいて書かれているので信用度は高いと思います。
具体的な数字や統計などものっていて興味深いです。
身近な出来事とかのサンプルがないのが残念ですがこれはこれでよい本です。
あまり心理学に深く突っ込んだりはしていませんが、ポップな感じでとても要点がつかみやすくてよかったです。
