神社での格闘シーンや新人戦の試合場面はすごいグルーブ感が
あって、ページをめくる手が止まりませんでした。

また、バレーボールという競技の魅力も、中学生の視点を通して
分かりやすく伝えられており、このままラストまで突っ走れば
スラムダンクのような青春モノの傑作になり得るのではないかと
思いました。

･･･が、群像劇に必須の各キャラクターの書き込みが致命的に少なく、
全ての思いが結実していくべき最後の試合の場面で、主人公以外の
登場人物が単なるＡ、Ｂになってしまいました。

カッコ悪さと賢さが同居する主人公の育夫が見せる、一瞬の熱さが
魅力十分だっただけに残念でした。

単純に、男の子ってばかだなあ、と思いました
そして、そのばかさこそが、愛すべきものだと思います

最近見た「男子」という、梅佳代さんの写真集がとてもよかったのと同じで、
おどけていて、すけべで、でも素直な、男の子ならではの世界を感じます

忙しく立ち回るサラリーマンの方々に読んでもらって、
おもしろいいたずらを思いついたときのこどもみたいな、
わくわくした気分になってもらいたいです

他のレビューで「ノベライズ本みたい」といったのがあったけれども、確かにこれを原作にTVドラマ化しても全く驚かない。むしろ、まだされていないのが不思議なくらい。
爽やかだし、笑えるし、感動も出来る。わざとらしくもない。
ただ、私自身の感覚からすると、あくまでTVドラマみたいな作品であって、これに1260円という、大体映画館1本観られる金額を払うほどまでではないよなぁ、という印象。
ビデオレンタル1回分ぐらいならね。良かったんだけれども。
