この本を読んで感じたこと。2回読まなければこの本の良さは理解できません。1回目。マクロの話がもちろん随所に出てくるのだが、知らず知らずのうちに謎解きストーリーに引き込まれ、マクロのことは忘却の彼方。しかし、ここで「あー、面白かった」なら、普通の小説を読めばいい。この本は、もう1回楽しめるのがミソです。マクロの詳細な解説とか操作手順は用語集のページにまとめられています。そこを読みながら、主人公の追体験をしてVBAの基礎を身に付ける。これが、この本の正しい読み方ですね。僕の友達はこの本に批判的でしたが、1回しか読んでいない人にこの本を論じる資格はないと感じます。文句なしの良著です。

まえがきに、一粒で二度おいしい、と書かれていますが、これがこの本の特徴を端的に捉えています。小生、某専門学校で講義を持っていますが、次年度の学生にはこの本を必須テキストにすることにしました。小説にする事で、VBAがここまでわかりやすくなるとは、一種の魔法と言うか奇跡を目の当たりにした思いです。ただ、トレンディードラマのような本のタイトルがちょっと残念です。もっとも、商業的にはこの方がいいのでしょうね。

覚えれば便利な事はわかってはいるんだけど、敬遠すること2年。とてもVBAの解説書とは思えないタイトルと表紙に釣られて買ってみましたが、釣られて大正解でした。私のように、「マクロはちょっと、、、」と思っている皆さん。これなら読めます。私が読めたのですから大丈夫です。背中を押してくれた作者に感謝です。物語も、2回ほど「え！そうだったの？」と裏をかかれました。難点を挙げるならば、これは恋愛小説と言うよりも推理小説に近いですね。冬ソナのような恋愛ものを期待すると当てが外れますが、非常によく練られたストーリーです。
