　「すてきなあなたに」が刊行され始めたのは昭和の終わり頃だったと思います。1巻は読んだ後母にプレゼントしてしまいましたが、2巻からはそのつど買いそろえるのが楽しみになりました。女性として、主婦として、考えさせられたりほっとしたり、ちょっとした大切なことを教えていただいたり、すてきなエピソードに胸が熱くなったり・・・。
　たくさんの短い文章が季節ごとに書かれているので、好きな所から好きなだけ、ゆっくりと読み進められます。「すてきなこと」や「すてきなひとたち」を知ることは、「すてきなわたし」をつくることに繋がるのではないでしょうか。
　しっかりとした造りの飽きのこない落ち着いたデザインのこのシリーズは、きっと全巻揃えて一生傍らに置きたくなる本になるでしょう。

ずっと続刊を待っていた｢すてきな・・・｣の第五巻です。気持ちがイライラしたりした時に読むとふわっと軽くなります。ずっと手元に置いておきたい本の一つです

温かい文章で読む人の心を穏やかにしてくれる本です。
１巻から共通したことですが、何年たってからでも読み返したい本ですので、エッセイを書かれた年月が記載されているとよいと思います。大橋鎮子さん以外の方の文章もあるようですが、どなたが書かれたのかわからないのが残念です。
個人的にお菓子の作り方は、砂糖と生クリームが多いように感じるので、雰囲気だけを味わっています。
