4.0 out of 5 stars 真っ直ぐに心に届く作品です, 2009/1/9
久しぶりに風邪で寝込み、読み返しました。初めて読んだ時より泣けて、泣けて…。
母に看病してもらっていたので、有り難さを痛感したんだと思います。
両親がそばにいることがまだ当たり前だけど、日々感謝しなければ。

作者が素直につづられた思いが、心にしみいる作品です。
カッコつけずに気取らずに、そんな文章が自分の気持ちと重なって、涙となってあふれ出す感じです。
今は年老いた両親の姿は想像出来ないけれど、これまでたくさんの幸せをもらった以上に時間を掛けてお返ししていきたい…と素直に思います。
とても優しい気持ちにしてくれる本です。

同年代の若い男性に読んで欲しいです。
両親がいなくなってから後悔しないために…。

親というのはどんなときでも子供のことを思っているものだ。どんな生活をして
いるのだろう？体調を崩していないか？困っていることはないのか？作者の母も、
いつもそんな気持ちだったのだろう。子供のために苦労することに、なんの
ためらいもなかった。だが子供というのは「親の心子知らず」。自分のことしか
見えていない部分がある。それでも、作者が母を東京に呼んで一緒に生活したのは、
とても親孝行だと思った。この世の中に父と母は一人ずつしかいない。かけがえの
ない存在なのだ。オカンの東京での生活は短かったけれど、充実した日々だったに
違いない。この作品は、作者が自分の母にささげるために書いた作品だと思うが、
私たちはそれを読んで自分自身と親の関係を見つめなおすことができる。ラストは
せつなかった。親とは、本当にありがたいものだと思う。

特にドラマティックな部分があるわけでもない。母と子の絆の話。しかし、「お母さん」という存在は大きすぎる人物。「親がこの世からいなくなる。」誰もが心の奥底で持っている恐怖なのではないでしょうか。私自身、親が年老いて、いつか別れなければならないという恐怖感を抱いていた時にこの本を読んだので、ものすごく泣いた。ボロボロボロボロと、特大粒の涙を流しました。この涙は「感動」ではない。ぴったりとした言葉が見つからないが、あえて言うならば「共感」。いつか自分も体験するんだと思うと、親を大切にしよう、時間がある時は出来るだけ一緒にいようと心から思い、親の存在の大きさに気付きました。どこかで思っていても、毎日の生活の中で、自分の事で精一杯になってしまい、こういう事は後回しにしてました。この本を読み、考える事ができ感謝しています。
