5.0 out of 5 stars すべての収束と新たな予感を感じさせる、すばらしいエンディング, 2003/5/18
辛い宿命、病弱な体、しかしそれに負けない強い精神力を持った千砂という女性が、この最終巻で迎える静かなラストの美しさには誰もが感動を覚える事と思います。

これまで、一砂と千砂は病気を受け入れつつも宿命に対しては強く戦って来ました。宿命に巻き込まないために友達を拒絶しつつ互いを愛し合う二人が迎えるラストと、拒絶されながらも彼らを支えようとした周囲の人たちの暖かさが未来への予感を感じさせるように描ききられており、ここまで読み進めてきた読者の人たちにはぜひ味わってもらいたいです。

千砂を支えてきた最大の立役者でありながら、報われることのなかった水無瀬の気持ちも雑誌掲載時から追補されています。

冬目景の作品に共通して言える事ですが、この作品は終始独特な
雰囲気に包まれていました。
特殊な設定をうまく活かし、『人の血が吸いたくなる』という奇病
に冒された姉と弟、そしてその周りの人達が織り成す人間ドラマ。
それが、うまく表現されていた作品でした。
ですが、最終話はだけは個人的に微妙だと感じました。
今までは、滑らかに話の流れが進んでいたのに(それは確実に悲劇
への流れでしたが)、その流れが最後の最後に断ち切られたという
感じがしました。
確かに、多少救いのあるラストでしたが、中途半端な救いを与
えるくらいなら、巻末に書かれてある作者のコメントの、「当初
予定していた本当に救いの無いラスト」の方がよかったのではな
いでしょうか。

今までの出来が素晴らしかっただけに、そこだけが残念です。

90年代以降、このテの作品は数多く存在するが、やはり冬目景先生は一線を越えている。
それは絵にしてもストーリーにしてもだが、何よりその作品全体に漂う雰囲気というか空気みたいなものがたまらなく張りつめているからだと思う。
私にとってこの作品は、誰とも語り合わず、自分の心の中にだけ存在させておきたい…そんな作品である。
