この稀有な作家の存在をつい最近知った。
まだ文庫化されている3冊しか読んでいないが、そのどれもが
異なる素材と主題を選びながら、全て日本の小説ではちょっと
お目にかかれないような完成度を誇っている。

凝りに凝ったプロット、魅力的な人物造型、歴史と政治への深い
理解。そして何よりも、読むことの快楽を極限まで追求した、無駄
の一切ない、それでいて密度の濃い文章。
小説の世界にどっぷり浸ることが出来る。

この『天使』は、そうした佐藤亜紀の魅力が頂点に達した作品だと
私は思う。当然面白い。しかし、その分難解なのである。
まだ佐藤氏の小説を読んでいない方は、『バルタザール』『1806』
から読み始めることをお勧めする。
他のレヴューにあるとおり、この小説は「説明」というものを
理解不能になるぎりぎりのところまで削ぎ落としている。
だが、氏の小説をある程度読みなれれば、この難解さは容易に快楽
へと変わるだろう。

というわけで、佐藤亜紀の小説を読んだことがあり、かつ面白いと
思った方には、留保無しで胸をはってお勧めできる本である。

　小説としてしか表現できない形でもって超能力者を描ききった傑作である。ちょっと漫画や映像で表現するのは不可能だろう。作品世界で描かれている超能力である「感覚」の描写は抽象語のオンパレードなため、その点で読者は骨が折れるかもしれない。まあ、それも仕方なし。そういう能力なんだから。
　しかし、これもまた芸事として文芸を捉えれば、この作品はまさに至芸である。生半可な「純文学」よりも遥かに文学的である、というよりもこの作品のほうが真っ当な文学である。
　ただし、である。読者を選ぶ。ライトノベルしか読まない人間はやめて置いた方がいいだろう、というか古典作品をあらかた読んでから手を出した方がよろしい。

傑作｡
文芸でも､かっこいい超能力/諜報モノはかけるんだ､という最高の証明｡
作者は喜ばんだろうけど､推理作家協会賞とか星雲賞とかSFプロパも
賞をあげなきゃだめだよ｡
超能力者同士の戦いの描写は､読んでいて頭が捻れそうになるし､
キャラも魅力的で､これなら大友や萩尾のコミックにも拮抗できる｡
もちろん佐藤亜紀作品ですから､小中学生にもわかります｡という
親切なエンタメ作ではないので､下記(ご亭主の解説)が参考になるでしょう｡
