大阪夏の陣での幸村の大活躍が余すところ無く生き生きと描写されています。
昔テレビで見たＮＨＫのドラマがきっかけですっかり真田ファンになって
しまい、読もう読もうとは思っていたのですが全１２巻というボリュームに
すっかり尻込みしてしまいやっと今回読破することができました。

読み始めればあっという間に終わってしまったというぐらい面白いです。
１１巻はなんと言っても幸村の活躍がクライマックスですが、史実でどうなる
のかわかっていても手に汗にぎる内容です。
もし幸村が総大将で指揮権を全てもっていたら・・・なんてことも思ってしまいます。
とにかく一読をおすすめします。絶対損はしないと思います。

この作品を読むまで、真田幸村は敗戦の将と言う知識しかなかった。しかし、読み終えた今、もう、幸村の虜になってしまった。特にこの巻で描かれている幸村の最後は熱すぎだ。久しぶりに泣いた。この作品を読んで男泣きしよう。

真田幸村の生涯の総決算とも言うべき大坂夏の陣の終局が語られる本作のクライマックス。
絶望的に不利な状況下で最後の最後まで勝負を捨てることなく戦い抜く幸村。
毛利勝永の奮戦や草の者の最後の働きに支えられて幸村が家康本陣に突撃するあたり、
身震いを禁じ得ないほどに臨場感・スピード感を持って描かれており、
否が応でも感情移入せざるを得ない。信之が幸村を偲ぶ下りには思わず涙してしまった。
