正直最初は、また文明の滅亡物ですか？
と思ったのですが、やはり田村由美作品は、魅せられます。

田村由美さんのうまいところは、どのキャラクターも魅力的にしっかり描くところだと思います。それが、とくに、この４巻の冬チームには、良く出ています。吹雪や美鶴との関係を通しての、鷹くんの成長はとても素敵だと思います。

吹雪君が相当良い所どりではありますが…、かっこいいです。

これから出てくる秋、夏Aチームや、これからの各チームがどのように繋がっていくのか、まだまだ目が離せません。５巻の発売がとても楽しみです。

いつも思うのだけ、「滅び去ってしまった世界に生き残ってしまう」という設定は、なんでこんなにも感動的なんだろう。もちろん、好き嫌いはあるけれども・・・・僕は、こういった終末論や最終戦争後の滅びた世界という設定が大好き。（性格的におかしい気もするが・・・（苦笑）ひらまつつとむさん『飛ぶ教室』や望月 峯太郎の『ドラゴンヘッド』、さいとうたかを『サバイバル』などなど。たぶん「終わり」の予感は、日常生活の美しさを感じさせるスパイスだからなんだろう。豊かな先進国の社会は、選択肢に溢れている。けど、豊かだから多ければ幸せとは限らないのが、人間の悲しさ。アメリカでは、肥満が「もう一つの栄養失調」と呼ばれ、深刻な病気として現れてきている。情報も同じだ。「これしかない」と思える視野の狭さが幸せな場合もある。田村さんの作品は、「これしかない」に満ちている。この飽食の世の中で、何もそんなにがんばって生きることもなかろう、と思えるが、そういう感覚を持つ主人公たちに、世界の終わりの後という環境は、とてもよく似合う。この人の作品を読むと、いつもなんだか「もっとがんばろう」と思えるだよね。そういう力って凄いと思う。

世界が滅びるかもしれない推測に当たり、各国政府が、未来に人間の種を残そうとするために実施された『７SEESPROJECTS』。その被験者となった子供たちの物語。日本政府に選ばれた（拉致された）それぞれのチームの７人のメンバーは、最終的には名前で選ばれた。春・夏・秋・冬。４巻は、ほぼ過半を、冬のメンバーの話。いままでのチームの中では一番悲劇的な結末を迎える。その中で生き抜く意思を見せる新巻鷹弘は、『サバイバル』の主人公を思い出させた。
