穀雨の章７から１１まで収録。
地球に隕石が衝突し、人類が滅びた時の保険として選ばれた若者達。
７巻からの主役はその選ばれし７人に残るためのサバイバルをしているエリート集団「夏A
チーム」。
７人を選ぶ生死を賭けた選抜試験の最中、生徒達は「合格」を得るために迷走する。
安居と茂は洪水の危機、
小瑠璃と繭は廃坑に閉じ込められ、落盤に巻き込まれてしまう。
あゆはいじめっこ達との決着、源五郎は自分の育てた動物を探し続ける。
それぞれに乗り越えなければならない問題がでてきて、一人一人しっかりエピソードがありとても面白い。（虹子さんだけ何もないけど）

でもこの巻は小瑠璃がメインかな。何度見てもぼろ泣きしてしまいます。
作者がすっかりスランプを脱したなーと思えます。
思えば愛猫が亡くなってしまったからなのかな。新しい猫を飼い始めたころから絶好調になった気がします。

巨大隕石衝突後、全ての人類が滅亡した後の世界。
冷凍装置で保存され、日本人の血を残すために放たれた、春夏秋冬それぞれの季語を名前に持つ若者たち。
ひとつ前の７巻からは、最後のチームである、夏のAチームの過酷な物語が描かれている。

夏のAチーム、それは遺伝子段階より選び抜かれ、生き抜くためのあらゆるサバイバル技術と知識を身につけた、最強のエリート集団。
こう言葉でまとめてしまえば、それは単なる「驚異的な若者達」で終わってしまうかもしれない。
しかし、百人近くの選考候補者の中からたった７人のみが選ばれる最終選考テストは、彼らを絶望に叩き落すほどの過酷で悲惨なものだった。

共に育った幼馴染とも兄弟とも言うべき友人達が、次々と脱落してゆく。
脱落＝死だ。
未来に生き残る７人を選ぶだけに集められた彼らには、その他の道はない。
彼らを厳しく指導し育て上げてきたはずの先生達は、モニターでその様子を冷静に眺めているだけ。
１７歳の少年少女達が仕組まれた試練の中で、必死に友を庇い、自然と闘い、生き延びようとする姿は、SF的設定の中でも胸が痛くなるほどにリアルで切ない。
特にこの８巻に収録されているエピソードは、涙なしには読めないほどに辛い。

果たして、誰が運命の７人に選ばれ、生き残るのか。
そして、他者を踏み越えて進む未来には、彼らにとっての希望があるのか。
「７SEEDS」という物語の中ではひとつのチームのエピソードに過ぎないが、この夏のAチームの物語ほど深く胸に迫るものはない。
未来に向かった彼らが、一般から選ばれた他のチームと出逢ったら…というのもとても見てみたいが、彼らは受け入れることができるのだろうか？

穀雨の章もいよいよ大詰め。9巻で終わるのでしょうか。
8巻はなんというか…せつないです…一番未来に行くのにふさわしい人間性を持ってるのではと思えるあのキャラに悲劇が…
テストだから、無理してでも立ち向かってゆかなくては、与えられた困難をクリアーしなくては、と思い込んでいるのですね。本当は生き残ることこそがテストの課題なのに。
それにしても夏Aのキャラはみんな魅力的。未来に行ってもほかのチームより贔屓目に見てしまいそう。同じ世代で出てくるのかなー？どういう風に他チームと出会うのか、うまくやっていけるのかもちょっと心配だけど。
