良い漫画だと思います。1巻と2巻以降では哲学的な要素が入るというか、全く趣きが変わってくる為、好き嫌いは別れそうですが。

あと、内容とは直接関係無い事ですが、この漫画、特に1巻を読んでいて毎回思うのですが、締めというか各話最後の1ページが良い。
毎話色々な事件、イベントが起こりますが、最後の1ページでそれらをきっちり締める、と言えばいいのでしょうか。私の拙い文章では説明し難いのですけど、とにかくとても印象に残る締め方をする漫画だと思いました。

宇宙に憧れて宇宙飛行士になった主人公、星野八太郎。
その憧れは、パイオニア的な存在の宇宙飛行士の自殺に出会うことよって変化を始める。
その事件は、広大な宇宙に身を置きながら、小さな存在の自分が内面に有する広大な宇宙と向き合うきっかけとなる。

人と人との係わり合いだけではなく、そう遠くない未来で新しく抱えるであろう環境問題にまで視点を広げている。

決してメジャーな作品ではなくとも、探せば必ず良質な作品は存在する好例。
読後、価格以上の感想を抱けることを保証する。

今、BS放送で朝やっているようですが、それを見てから買う方は注意！アニメとは違います（もちろん本が先なのでアニメが違うのですが）。方向性は同じですが登場人物やSTORYが漫画にはなかったものが出ています。しかしどちらも面白いことは確かです。私は漫画が先だったのでアニメに違和感がありましたが、違うものとして見たら面白いと思えるようになりました。アニメから入る人も、違うものとして見た方が良いかも。

しかし、断然お勧めします！！！！SFながら、すんなりと受け入れられるのは、未来に対して飛躍した描写が無いことと登場人物の心の描写がすばらしく良くできているからなのでしょう。この絵のタッチが嫌いなんていう人も、そんなことは全然気にならなくなりますよ。試し読みのできる本屋さんもあるので、とにかく一度手に取ってみて！
