1979年のアメリカが舞台の話。
主人公は自分の部屋からスナッフムービーと思えるものを発見してしまうところから物語は始まる。
一本の映画のフィルムの真実を求めて主人公が動く。
ものすごくできのいいB級映画を見ているような感覚に僕は陥ってしまった。いつの間にか物語の中に僕まで引き込まれていく、そんな小説だ。

僕は『戦慄という名の旋律』を感じた。
あなたは何を感じるのだろうか？

最後の最後まで騙されてました。作者の文章トリックは秀逸です。
どんなに警戒しながら読んでも騙されるでしょう。読解力のある人の
方が騙されます。

この本は、自分の読解力を試すのにいいかもしれません。
私にこの本を薦めた人が、本当には理解していませんでした。
誤解したまま、読み終えていたのです。
私も完全に理解できているかどうかわかりません。

主人公も、探偵役のダイスも最後の最後まで、真相を理解したつもり
で誤解してるのです。読者のみ、すべてを知ることができます。

このミスリードはすごい。一度挑戦してみてはいかがですか？
何人かでまわし読みをして、答え合わせをすることをお薦めします。
