"清春"はミュージシャンとして過小評価されている。
これを聴いてつくづくそう思いました。

本作『madrigal of decadence』は、ロックだとすれば緻密過ぎて、ポップスだとすれば壮麗過ぎます。
鳴っているのは、退廃という美意識に貫かれた叙情詩。
構築された音世界に浸ってみてください。

もうひとつ。清春さんの音楽は一聴しただけでは暗く感じるかもしれません。
しかし底には確かに希望が流れています。
暗がりの中の光。これがとても心地良いのです。
人生というものは楽しいときもあればうまくいかない時もある、
そういう両面性を感じさせるアーティスト。それが清春さんです。
明るく前向きなだけのポジティブさに辟易している方にも聴いてみてほしいです。

単品ではなく、全体で聴いた方が良いタイプのアルバムです。
敢えて、具体には触れませんが、RockやPopといったカテゴリーを無視して、
そこにあるのは、芸術の中の音楽であると捉えた方がいいアルバムです。

映像や写真といった様々なパターンでリリースされているところに、
そういったところが垣間見えるかもしれません。

パッと聴いただけの音の激しさではなく、心の芯から揺さぶられ、揺り動かされる、
本当の意味での激しさを奏でられる方が、今の日本の音楽シーンに、
どれだけいることでしょうか。

もしも、そんな方に出逢えていないのであれば、
もしも、そういった音楽を求めているのであれば、一聴の価値がある１枚です。

　こちらの初回特典のブックレットは、ＣＤの付属品としてあまり期待してなかったけど、これはもう別売りで写真集として出してもいいぐらいの出来。とりあえずこちらも買って損はなかったです。
　音源もソロとしての新たな一歩を踏み出すに相応しい、集大成的な貫禄と実験的な試みが混在した意欲作。
　１ｓｔ「ｐｏｅｔｒｙ」のダークさと突き抜けた歌詞の世界観、２ｎｄ「ＭＥＬＬＯＷ」のポップさを備えた多彩なメロディー性、３ｒｄ「官能ブギー」のグラマラスな妖艶さと淫靡なサウンド世界、４ｔｈ「ＶＩＮＮＹＢＥＡＣＨ」のありのままを曝け出したネイキッドな想い、５ｔｈ「ＦＯＲＥＶＥＲ　ＬＯＶＥ」の限りない愛を綴ったジャンルレスの普遍的なロックが、今作の中に脈々と受け継がれているようです。
　お勧めは重いグルーブながらバンド時代の狂気的な匂いすら漂わせる「ｐｅｔｔｙ」や、ライブでは以前から演奏され名曲と謳われた「Ｉ　ｋｎｏｗ」、深遠なサウンドと歌詞世界が彼のアーティスト性をこれでもかと立証してくれる美しさに満ちたナンバー「ｉｎｎｏｃｅｎｔ」。そしてラストを締める二曲のスピード感にもやられました。
　とにかく一曲一曲にディープな作風が感じられる大作です。打ち込みサウンドやシングル曲のミックス等、聴く人によっては違和感を覚えさせる点もあるかもしれませんが、未だ尚最前線で音楽を奏で続ける彼の妥協無き追求心は、バンド時代の激しく変遷した音楽性以上の気迫を感じさせますね。ソロの作品に手をつけたことがない方にも是非手にとって欲しい作品ですよ。
