HP33sを持っていますのでそれとの比較です。HP電卓としての機能は全く問題ないのですが，33sと比較して表示回りで気くばりに欠けているところが散見されます.
○良いところ
・初期の33sよりコンマが大きくて見やすい
・ENTERが32sシリーズのサイズに戻ったので33sより押しやすい
・スタックを4個使わずに複素数演算が扱え，より直感的になった
・Σ+で数値を入力する時，入力した個数が表示されてちょっと安心
○悪いところ
・ENG表示モードにかなり問題有り。ENGボタンで指数表示を変更すると，指数部分がはみ出て1画面に収まらないので，33sと比較してかなり見づらい(バグか?)
・複素数を表示すると，1ページめに虚部が中途半端な桁まで表示されることがあり見づらい。どうせ2ページ使うなら実部と虚部でページ分けすればよいのに…

HP48GXと比べると一回り小さく、厚み・重量とも約半分なので、Ｙシャツの胸ポケットに入れても苦になりません。盛り沢山の機能に加えて、HPらしい濃いデザインと、キーのクリック感（48GXより軽めですが）の復活に感涙です。固定小数点モードでは３桁毎にコンマが表示されるので、お金の計算にも便利。入力方法もＲＰＮと数式通りの選択ができ、日本語マニュアルが入手可能な事も、HP35sが誰にでもお勧めできる所以でしょう。
ただし、PCで書いたプログラムを電卓に送りたい人や、４段スタックの２行表示では物足りないと言う人には、HP-50をお勧めします。

軽くてコンパクト、機動性のよいhpのRPN電卓。位取りのカンマも見やすくなっています（sharpのように上にカンマが打たれたほうが小数点と区別しやすいですが‥‥）。普通の数式通り入力電卓としても使用できますが、よく練られたキー配置の利点を最大限に享受するとなれば、RPN入力で使いこなすスタイルがお薦め。簡単なスプリクトもくめますし、工学定数呼び出しも分かりやすい。
唯一残念なのは、有効桁を目一杯表示しようとすると、指数表示部が右にはみ出すこと。

本体裏面には黒色のラバー足（上部に小さく2本、下部に横長く1本）を装備していて、机の上でもすべりません。そんなに簡単にとれるようなつくりにはなっていませんし、見た目にも配慮されています。
