前作「ファンクラブ」を聞いた時に「随分悩んでるなあ」という印象を受けた。
前作シングル「或る町の群青」で、「まだ少し引きずってるなあ」と思った。
今回のシングルも、実はそれほど期待せずに買ってみた。

が、今回は何かが吹っ切れたような勢いを聞かせてくれた。

「サイレン」や「リライト」の実験的要素と、「ファンクラブ」でバンドの
方向性を模索していたモヤモヤを、「君繋ファイブエム」の勢いに乗せて
突っ込んでねじ込んで、昇華したように聞こえる。

"夢なら醒めた〜"以降のサビのメロディで、一旦落としたと思った直後に急上昇して、
間奏らしい間奏も無く一気に3:13を駆け抜けていく。


3:13で、これか。
ジャンルを超えて凄まじいクオリティです。
何か吹っ切れたのか？

アフターダーク、聞きました。

久々にかなり走ってます。
全力です。そんな感じ。

しかし、初期の崩壊アンプリファーなどのようにがむしゃらに、衝動的に走っている印象ではなかったです。

洗練され、鋭さを増しました。

某雑誌にて、ファンクラブ発売後にアジカン本人達は自分の伝えたいことが伝わらないことを悩んだと語っていました。
そして、その悩みからこの曲が生まれて来たのだと。
仲間との結束も増し、ファンクラブが揺るぎない良盤であると確信したとも語っていました。

そんな解放感みたいなものがアフターダークには詰まっているように思います。


私の拙く、主観にまみれた文章では、大したことも伝えられませんが、
このCDを手に取って、
アジカンの伝えたいことをそれぞれが聞いて感じとって欲しいと切に思いました。

下北沢シェルターでのアナログフィッシュのゲストで出た時に、初めて聴きました。
疾走感あふれるナンバーというんでしょうか。また違うアジカンを見た気がします。夏フェスで聴いた『ライカ』という曲より勢いもあり、シングルっぽいな〜と思いました。ファンクラブ、或る街の群青とは違う感じです。
まだ1回しか聞いてないのでなんともいえませんが、早く聴きこみたいのと、1年ぶりのシングルということで期待をこめて、星5つです。
