出産といえば「たまひよ」と、ＣＭに感化され購入しました。

しかし買って失敗。
書店で手に取り、実際に見てから決めるべきでした。
大きく6つの項目から構成されていますが、
1つ目の項目（part1）は・・・
雑誌「たまごクラブ」の切り抜き寄せ集めのようなページ構成、
様々なモニター（参加読者）が登場、写真が盛りだくさんです。
「出産ドキュメント」など、項目によってはそれが効果的に使われていますが、
必要とは思えない写真が多く（出産が待ち遠しい雰囲気は伝わりますが）、
もはやモニターの出産記念アルバムの様相です。
「育児大百科」に比べればずっとマシですが。。。
それでもPart2以降は写真が少なくなり、基本的な情報が適切、且つ見やすくまとめられています。

しかし問題なのは、その情報の偏りと古さ。
例えば、里帰り出産の項目でのＱ＆Ａでは、
産後3ヶ月実家に居る予定の方（を想定）からの質問に答えています。
ところが最近の産科では、赤ちゃんの発達心理や、旦那さんの父親意識啓発の観点から、
1ヶ月検診後にはできるだけ早めに元の生活に戻すよう勧めることが多いのですが、
そのあたりの記述はありません。
さらに、400人アンケートデータとして、出産前に実家に帰る期間は載せているのに、
産後実家で過ごした期間は掲載しておらず（「育児大百科」にも記載されていない）、
結果的にこの本では「産後3ヶ月」という期間が示されているのみです。
おそらく、この本一冊だけでなく他の本やネット等で情報を得る方も多いでしょうから、
産後3ヶ月という期間が里帰り出産としては長いことはすぐに判るとは思います
（例：http://allabout.co.jp/children/childbirth/closeup/CU20061130A/）。
これはあくまで一例で、
医療に携わる者としては、他にも偏った情報や「おや？」と思うところが散見されるのがとても気になります。

雑誌感覚で読み流すのではあればいいかもしれませんが、
出産のバイブルとまではとても言えません。
もし（必要な）情報量と実用性を求めるのであれば、
主婦の友社「最新安産&新生児大全科」やナツメ社「はじめての妊娠・出産・育児」、
永岡書店「はじめての妊娠・出産安心マタニティブック」のほうがいいでしょう。
特に上記3冊目は、赤ちゃんとともに自分も成長していこうとお考えであれば、
とっておきの本ではないでしょうか。

「たまひよ」で紹介されていたので、あまり考えずに購入。
カラーで大きくて読みやすかろうと思っていたのですが、
最初にまとめられている「たまひよ読者」のアルバム的なものは必要ないなぁ・・・。と思いました。
欲しい知識面では物足りなく、結局もう一冊買う羽目になります。

体験談など、参考になる部分もありますので、他の妊婦さん達との連帯感や、情緒的な面を満足させたい人にはお勧めかもしれません。

何を買おうかいろいろ本屋で探していたところ、この本を手に取り、カラフルな写真・イラストが多くとっても気に入りました。
本のサイズはちょっと大きかったのですが、これだけ写真などが満載だったらまあいいかなと。体験談やコメントなども簡単に書かれており、参考になりました。
タイトルは妊娠大百科なのですが、本の最初にちょっとでも妊娠前のこと（注意やアドバイス）があれば◎でした！
読みやすくわかりやすいのでとってもおすすめです。
