Vの演奏と録音はとても良い。それだけに次の点は残念。（１）新録が1曲も無い平凡な選曲、（２）いつものステレオタイプでイマジネーションに欠けたジャケット写真、（３）Vが90年代に復活を果たしたサザンの曲との出会い等、Vの音楽性に関してのコメントなしで、曲目説明のみの簡素で安直なライナー･ノート、（４）パーソネルの表記なし、（５）つまりＶに対し愛着の無い人たちが安直に作り上げたコンピＣＤということ。これでは、2009年6月14日に神に召されたＶの初代リード･ギターリストであるボブ･ボーグル氏、そして全てのＶファン、そしてレコーディングしたベンチャーズのメンバーに対して、あまりに失礼な作りのＣＤだ。ＥＭＩさん、何のためにこのＣＤ、リリースしたのですか？ファンとＶ本人達に愛情を持っていらっしゃいますか？私たちＶファンを馬鹿にしていませんか？Ｖの演奏が良いだけに余計に腹が立つＣＤだ。

サザンオールスターも休眠いたしましたが、少し前のヒット曲を大好きなザ・ベンチャズがカヴァーした珍しいＣＤです。
サザンの曲をエレキの覇者「ザ・ベンチャーズ」がどのようにアレンジして聞かせてくれるのか？？と期待して購入しましたが、予想外に原曲に忠実でインパクトの無い内容…に、やや失望してます。
でも、爺エレキバンドを結成している我々も、数曲は参考にして、レパートリィに加える予定です。
