Appleの無線LANルーター。
PC向けとして売られている他社製品と比較すると
・n/a/b/gの全方式に対応（接続相手と最適な方式に自動切換）
・2.4GHz帯と5.0GHz帯の同時使用が可能
・有線LANのポートが全てギガビット
・HDD等接続可能なUSBポート付き（ハブを使えば複数接続可）
の物としては安価な部類に入る。
他社品の同等機能の物は２万円程度する事を考えると意外と安い。
（1万程度の物だと2.4GHzと5.0GHzは選択式で同時使用は出来ない）

意外とルーターにUSBポートが付いていて、HDDをつないでNASとして利用できる物は無いのではないかと。
（コンバータやNASの増設用にUSBポートが付いているのはよくあるが）

2.4GHz帯は電子レンジ使用時に妨害が発生する事があり、設置環境によっては影響がかなり出る事もあるため、切換作業なしで同時使用（自動切換）できるとかなり便利です。

惜しいのは電源がACアダプタな所と値引きや安売りが無い事くらい。
※初期セットアップや設定変更はMacでもWinでもOSに関係なく可能。
　WIndowsしか使わないとしても問題なく使用できます。

BUFFALO 外付けハードディスク USB2.0対応 1.0TB HD-CN1.0TU2とプリンタをバッファローコクヨサプライ BUFFALO USB2.0Hub バスパワー 4ポート 白箱 RoHS対応 ホワイト BSCPH401WH で接続し、Time Machine ＆ Printer Serverとして使用中です。初心者でも使いやすいユーティリティで簡単に設定できますし、高度な設定もOptionキーを使うとできたりするのもAppleならではです。
WiFiはデフォルトの11a/n-11b/g/n, WPA/WPA2の設定で、MacBook(11n/WPA2), Windows XP(11g/WAP2)x2, Wii(11g/WPA2), PSP(11g/WPA), iPod Touch(11g/WPA2)で接続できています。1台のWindows XPだけが時々切断されるようです。AirMacの電源をOff/Onしてみたり、FWを最新の7.4.2にしたり、いろいろ試していますが、まだ改善してません。
TimeMachineはHDDのパーティションをMacBookでMacOS拡張で初期化しました。最初だけはGbE有線でBackUpを取りましたが、それ以後は無線LANでも高速にBackUPできていて全く問題ありません。ただしHDDは常時電源がOnのままで待機状態にはなりません。
プリンタは複合機なので、普通の印刷は問題ないのですが、スキャナー取り込みまではサポートされていません。
WPAによるセキュリティの向上と11nの通信速度の改善ができてとても満足しています。6台中1台だけのWindwosXPとの互換性が解決できれば☆５つにしたいところです。

マック使いですが今までは某社の無線LANルータを使用していました。しかしよく切れる（原因不明だが、数日に一回リンクが途切れる）ので思い切って購入しました。約１ヶ月使用しましたが一度もリンク切れがありません。さすがマック同士？相性バツグンです。価格が割高ですから希望を込めて☆４つで。
