アーティストについて

トム・ロウ、ニック・ムーン、スコット・ヒスロップ、ジェイミー・ワード、ベン・コックスという平均年齢21歳の5人組。10代の頃からトムとニックで曲作りを始め、2006年にバンドとして本格的に活動を開始。英NMEが"彼らの曲は叙事詩的で、容赦なく美しい"と絶賛し、楽曲が米の人気ドラマ「ソプラノズ」のCMソングにも起用されるなど、デビュー前から欧米で話題を集める。2007年デビュー・アルバム「KYTE」を日本先行でリリースすると日本でも瞬く間に大ヒットを記録し、現在もロングセラーを続けている。2008年2月に同作がUK、ヨーロッパでもリリースされるとNMEでの8点という高評価(因みに、同時期にリリースされたThese New Puritans、Vampire Weekendは8点、Los Campesinosは6点)を筆頭に、UK各誌でも大絶賛。2008年に行われた初のジャパンツアーでは東京の2公演を始め全公演ソールドアウトという伝説を残し、その後UKツアーやヨーロッパツアーも大成功を収める。

寝る前、散歩中、通学通勤中、いつでもどこでも耳に馴染みます。

ファーストのあまりの出来に、セカンドにもかなりの期待を抱き聴きましたが全く心配ありませんね。 より攻撃性を増したkyteのサウンドがちりばめられています。
美メロのあまり、ついついサウンドに注目しがちになってしまいますが、歌詞も素晴らしいです。

曲が似てるのでどの曲がどの曲か分からなくなってしまいますが、それもヘビロテにさせる要因でしょう。
アルバムを繰り返し繰り返し何度でも聴きたくなります。

収録内容も充実ですね。(EPを持ってない人にとっては有り難すぎます。)
これとファーストの国内盤を買えばkyteを存分に楽しめると思います。

セルフタイトルKyteのアルバムリリースから約１年でこのアルバムは完成を遂げた。オープニング曲Eyes　Lose Their　Fireから容赦ないネオシューゲイザーが美しい嵐を呼ぶ。歌詞はどこか悲しみに満ちていながらも音楽には彼らの心に潜む光と希望が滲み出ている。新しいエレドラビートが絡まる曲も多く存在し、よりKｙteの世界観が今回のアルバムでクローズアップされている。前回の来日から披露していたThe Smoke Save Livesはライブ版よりも世界観がより広くサウンドの細かさ美しさ旋律さに驚いた。The Lost　Bloodはダンスの要素が凄く感じられる。しかしながらそのなかにメロディ系バンド群以上の計算されたメロディ、考え抜かれた美しさが詰まっている。Designed　For　Damageではポストシガーロスという肩書を捨てるくらいの音楽性があり、音楽の中にあるリスナーの感情を奪っていく様がとても今回の進化を分かりやすくあらわしている。全曲手抜きのない美しいメロディアの世界である。
イギリスではまだビックヒットに恵まれていないのがとても疑問に感じる。イギリスのリスナーこそ聴く音楽である。このバンドはNMEの表紙、Qの表紙を飾っても良いくらいルックス、音楽性、将来性にたけているバンドである。もっとイギリス全土がこのアルバムをクローズアップしていって欲しい。インディーズの壁とを超えるからこそ本当の良い音楽が発見されていくのだから。

1stアルバムで、もうそれは予感していたが、ジザメリ、ローゼス、マイブラ級のバンド。
こういう音楽を生む出してしまうUKという国の音楽の伝統と底力を感じさせる。シューゲイザーな人もそうでない人も、全音楽ファン必聴の名盤！（1stも購入を是非オススメします）
