今までG4をしている都合上　FireWire 400の周辺機器が多く　
iMack800には取り付けることが出来ず、探し当てたのがこの商品でした。
この商品のおかげで過去の財産が引き継がれる事が出来ました。
出来れば800側と400側が短いケーブルで繋がっていると便利だと思いました。
800のジャックがプラスチック的なやわそうなので、iMac側の差し込み口が
変換プラグ分長い為負荷がかかってそうで怖い気がしました。
しかし変換プラグとしての役割には感謝です。

intel iMacにキャノンのDVテープのハイビジョン・デジタルビデオカメラから映像を取り込みました。最初HVでの取り込みに苦労しましたが、カメラの取説通りにやってみると難なくできました。最近のデジタル・ビデオカメラはUSBで取り込めますが、DVテープはFireWireしかないので、しばらくこれでいきます。しかし、FireWire800ってどうなんだろう、appleの意図がわからん。

iBook G4からiMacへの買い替えでした。
友人からFireWire 400のケーブルを借りていたものの、iMacのポート形状が違い、大変焦りました。
しかし、この商品を見つけて購入・使用し、パソコンのデータを移行することができました！
近所の電気店ではどこにもこのような商品がなかったので助かりました。
