月額課金制を採用したATOK定額制サービス「ATOK for Windows 月額版」(2008年9月2日(火)サービス開始予定)の1年間の使用権をソフトウェアパッケージ化
した日本語入力システム。
本製品のATOK定額制サービスでは、「ATOK Lab.」による研究成果を、変換エンジン「ATOK ハイブリッドコア」へ常にフィードバックし、ATOKならではの変換力で快適なサポートを実現。ATOKの新機能プログラムや最新バージョンプログラム、新たな辞書・辞典コンテンツや最新辞書・辞典への更新など、常に最新の「ATOK」が利用できる。また、「連想変換」や「日付入力支援」、「カタカナ語を英語に一発変換」、「郵便番号から住所に変換」など、便利な変換機能も搭載。

4.0 out of 5 stars 一度使うと，MS-IMEには戻れない。日本語入力はやっぱりATOK。軽快な日本語入力のためなら決して高い買い物ではない。, 2009/7/17
日本語変換ソフト。インストールしてから1年間だけ使える分安い商品。
日本語をパソコンでタイプするならば，やっぱりこれに勝るものはない。
とにかく誤変換が少なく，かなり長文を入力しても文節を正しく切ってくれて，
文脈にあった単語を引き当てて変換してくれる。
誤変換だと思われるものは，すぐに警告もしてくれる。

日本語辞書機能はかなり世相を反映しているものになっている。
「みくしぃ」と入力してスペースをタイプすると，一発で「mixi」とでるし，
「すかいぷ」と入力してスペースとタイプすると，一発で「Skype」と出るし，
「がくと」と入力してスペースをタイプすると，一発で「Gackt」とでるし，
「びーず」と入力してスペースをタイプすると，一発で「B'z」と変換される。

ATOKは，

- PCにプレインストールされているワープロソフトが一太郎が主流だった頃，
- パソコンといえば，PC-98シリーズ

という時代には当然のごとくパソコンにインストールされていた日本語変換ソフト。
ただ，マイクロソフトのword, excelが主流になってからは，
標準的な日本語変換ソフトはMS-IMEになっていたので，
一太郎をずっと使い続けている人以外は，知らない人もいるかもしれない。

ちなみにダウンロード販売で１年間で約３３００円。
これでストレスフリーに入力できるものならば，決して高い買い物ではない。
