【ストーリー】
主人公昶(アキラ)は学校をサボり帰路につく途中、全身黒ずくめの怪しい人物に出会う。
自らを「人型をした影」と話すその男、白銀(シロガネ)は「ずっとキミを探していた」という。
あまりの白銀の怪しさに全く信用しようとしない昶に対し、
白銀は「今日の夜10時にキミの学校に来てくれれば、影というモノがどういうものか見せる」というのだが...

同人音楽界で有名なAsrielのデビューCDです!

とても楽しみで、すごく期待が出来ますが☆は4コ。
モノクロームファクターの公式サイトやアニメのOPで聴きましたが、「プロになる」という理由なのかアレンジャーがあるため、同人の頃に出されたCDの"Asrielさ"というのがあまり感じられません。ヴォーカルのKOKOMIさんも同人CDでは気になりませんでしたが、某歌手声優さんに歌い方が似ているような気がします。(KOKOMIさん自身も尊敬されている方だからかもしれません)
やはりこれも「プロになる」ためだと思いますが、少し残念です。

でも曲自体はとても好きです!(矛盾していますかね?苦笑)
来月発売の2nd、今後の活動にも期待です♪

私はこの曲でAsrielを知り、ファンになりました。
Asrielのメジャーデビュー曲であり、アニメ版モノクローム・ファクターのＯＰです。
最初は弦楽器の音に惹かれただけで、すごい甲高くて独特の歌い方をする人だな〜位にしか
思っていなかったのですが、聞いているうちに段々メロディーラインと
高音で可愛い歌声に引き込まれ、気付けば惚れ込んでいました。

表題曲の「Metamorphose」はＡメロがちょっと暗めですが、
Ｂメロからサビにかけてはノリのいいストレートなアニメ主題歌といった感じです。
全体を通して、キレのある弦楽器の音がとても印象的。
歌詞も作品に合わせて、戸惑いながらも前向きな気持ちを歌っています。
Ａメロのちょっと妖しげな雰囲気やKOKOMIさんの独特な歌い方も、
作品の世界観にマッチしていて逆にいいのではないでしょうか。
ただ、Asrielにしては曲が大衆向けな感じですが、
KOKOMIさんの歌い方はかなり好みが分かれると思います。
一方ＣＰ曲の「歎きの雨を一雫」は、とても重い歌詞や曲調になっています。
歌い方同様、かなり聞き手を選ぶ曲ではないかと思います。
後にインディーズ曲を聞いて分かったのですが、表題曲とは違い
だいぶインディーズ曲に近いAsrielらしい楽曲のようです。
表題曲が作品に合わせてAsrielらしさを抑えた分、
こちらはAsriel節を全開にしたのではないかと思いました。

Asrielの楽曲は全体的に独特で大衆に受け入れられるような
音楽性ではないのですが、「Metamorphose」は割と誰でも聞きやすい
メロディーラインなので、Asrielの入門編としてはちょうどいいかと思います。

このユニットの楽曲は初めて聴いたのだが、正直何故そこまで話題になるのか全く分からなかった。ヴィジュアル系を謳っている割にはＪポップ的な感じなのは兎も角、ヴォーカルのクセが強すぎる。何故ここでビブラートが？という箇所で、声が揺れる揺れる・・・高音域で美しいのだが、それがかえって幽鬼めいたものを感じさせる。どうにもやりすぎ感が否めない。
曲はストレートで聴き易い反面、ヴォーカルは聴き手を選ぶ、といった印象。話題になるものが全てではない・・・
