話題になっていたのは、知っていましたが、実際に聴いたのは紅白が初めてです。
この曲は、前奏がシャンソン風で、これは良いのかな？と思っていると、歌が始まったら今度は、完璧な歌謡曲へと早変わり。メロディーが美しく、歌声からは心が伝わってきます。
紅白は、ジェロさんと水谷豊さんを見るつもりで見ていて、全然コレには期待などしていなかったのですが、終わってみると、この曲が１番印象に残り、素晴らしかったです。
それで、今作を購入しましたが、カップリングの方も、これまた良い。
歌謡曲好きな方なら、年齢問わずおすすめできる作品です。

　音楽大学を目指していたものの、家庭の事情で一度は音楽の道を諦める。しかし音楽への憧れが捨てきれず、子育てが一段落した40歳で活動を再開。自主制作を経て58歳でデビュー。2008年1月発表の新曲「愛のままで…」がロング・ヒットを記録した「熟年の星」。――という紹介の後、還暦にして紅白初出場が決まった彼女の歌を、初めて耳にした。

　演歌ではない、普通の歌謡曲風に始まった「愛のままで…」。さほど期待もせずに聴き始めたのだが、コーラスに差し掛かったあたりで、俄然、画面に釘付けとなった。シャンソンを思わせる、陰りのあるメロディーは、今までに聴いたことのない、変わった展開を見せるのである。

♪そう キャンドルの灯が いつか消える時まで　♪愛が愛のままで…

　自分が選んだ愛を、最後まで貫く素晴らしさ。普遍のテーマを伸びやかに歌い上げるこの曲は、「大人の魅力」で溢れている。これだけの曲は、そう滅多に出ないだろう。音楽大学を目指しただけあり、唱法は完全な「正統派」。高橋真梨子を思わせる低音の声も、情熱的な歌詞に良く合っている。

　ミスチルとパフュームと水谷豊（＝杉下右京）を目当てに2008年の紅白は珍しく全部見たが、何と、一番感動したのはこの曲であった。これだけ素晴らしい楽曲なら、若い世代が聴いても良さが分かる。2008年12月22日に総合第4位に上昇した後、2009年1月26日、遂に総合チャート1位を獲得。61歳7ヶ月での首位は最年長記録だそう。

叔母の希望で購入しました。大層、喜んでくれて良かったです。
ご高齢のアーティスト、その人生が凝縮されたような深みのある、
そして、何とも言えない説得力がある作品です。
が、歌声は、「老い」などを感じさせない。

本当に、不思議な魅力のある秀作ですね。
