昭和40年、閉山の危機が迫る炭鉱町。まちを救うために炭鉱会社が構想したのが、フラダンスショーを目玉にしたレジャー施設の建設だった。ダンスを教えるため、東京から呼び寄せられた元花形ダンサーは、始めは馬鹿にしていたが、ひたむきな炭鉱の少女たちの熱意に魅せられ、次第に忘れかけていた情熱を思い出し…。李相日監督×松雪泰子主演で贈る愛と勇気のエンターテイメントショー。

【娯楽映画 or 実録映画】
　表面上の創りや外観は、「エンターテインメント」に仕上がっている。しかし、その内容を詳細に観察してみると、昭和40年(1965年)という時代考証から始まって、エネルギー源が石炭から石油に転換してゆく変動期の東北地方・福島県の常磐炭田(1976年・全面閉山)が舞台であり、歴史的背景からみても登場人物群は、ほぼ実在した人々で成り立っている。鑑賞を重ねるたびに、私には、この映画が「ドキュメンタリー」に思えてならなくなった。中核にある部分は「人間の生き様」であるが、李相日監督は、それを上手に「ハワイアンセンター創設」というオブラートに包んで、芯のある骨太の作品に仕上げ、堂々と真正面から、我々に提示してみせた。その心意気、「見事！」の一語に尽きる。

ほのぼのしたかったので、満足できる作品でした。しかし、私は従業員を救うためにハワイアンリゾートを立ち上げたと聞いていたのですが、作品は違うように感じました。作品のメインではないでしょうが反対していた母親が味方になったシーンは泣けました。お勧めの作品です。

結論から言うと、やっぱりラストのフラダンス、特に蒼井優のダンスには圧倒されました。
わかっているけど、全員のあのダンスをみたら涙腺も潤みますよ。

松雪泰子もいい演技でした。
啖呵を切って男風呂に乗り込んでいく様はかっこよかった〜

でも、これって実話をベースにしているんですよね。
私自身、北東北に在住しているので、両親もこのハワイアンセンターに行ったことがあるそうですが、
昭和40年代、って高度成長期が停滞し（ちょうど今と同じですね）、人員削減で生活も苦しくなってきた時代。

そんな中、映画では大いに脚色はされているでしょうが、
勇気をもって生きていくこと=地域の支えにもなること、ということを教えてくれる映画でもあります。

本当に・・・蒼井優はバレエ経験者でもあるので、ダンスはさまになっていましたね〜
あのシーンだけでも何度もリピートしてみたいくらいです。
