まず1曲目その他幾つかを聞いて感じていたのは、もしもっとノイズがかかっていてラジオから聞こえてきたら、ビリー･ホリデイとかの結構昔のジャズシンガーにもっと似てくるだろうなぁということ。
もし昔のジャズをかけるような、どこかバーなどのお店でそんな昔のナンバーに混じって聞いたとしてもあまり違和感が無いと思いました。（しつこいですが）例えばOne Dayなんかも、昔のレコードを聞いているみたいにノイズっぽかったら、もし昔のモノクロ映画のバックで流れていたら似合うだろうなぁと思います。
こういうのを現代のシンガーで聞くとは！！かえって何だか珍しい感じがしたというか、あれ?これは何？と、思わず聴き入ってしまいました。

とは言え、声の出し方（ビブラート）なんかが、も少しナチュラルで時々フォーク歌手っぽいところもあったりして面白いなぁと。
ちょっと都会の倦怠がかっている、といって投げやりでもない、不思議な孤独感みたいなのを感じさせる曲なんて、素晴らしいですよね〜。例えばLove Me Like A River Doesなんかも凄くいいと思いました。

スタンダートナンバーのカバーではなく、彼女のオリジナルということが凄いです！
最近、ジャズっぽい感じの女性ヴォーカリストって、少しずつ趣が違って面白いなぁと思いますが、彼女もこれから楽しみです。

ノラ・ジョーンズを初めて聴いたときも、かなり衝撃的でしたが、Melody Gardotはその上をかなり行く。
声がとっても個性的な色気があって良い。
このアルバムを買ってから半年以上たつけれど、いまだに飽きない。どの曲も素晴らしいけれど、Goneはとくに良い。
淡々とした歌い方の中に説得力がある。それはやっぱりちょっとだけカントリーテイストが入った彼女の声のせいなのかな？
ノラ・ジョーンズ、スティシー・ケントやブロッサム・ダイアリィなどが好きな方におすすめ。
キャス・エリオットなどが好きな方にもきっと満足していただけるはずです。

Nora Jones、Diana Krall好きな方へお奨めします。アルバムの完成度は高いです。この値段なら絶対に買って損はしません。ブランデー片手にしっとりした雰囲気を味わいましょう。
