一応ヒーロー、ポラットが活躍するという内容だが、そういう点では失敗している。
この男、度胸はあるが、敵にウラをかかれたり、準備不足だったりと意外に活躍していない。最後はしっかり戦ってくれるが、そことても機略で相手を倒すとかスカッとする演出にはなってない。
しかし、今の中東情勢を考える上ではなかなかのものだ。プロパガンダ云々されているが、アメリカ側の悪役・サムがキリスト教原理主義者で、実際にイラクで展開している傭兵会社「ブラックウォーター」のボスを思わせるキャラクターになっているし、彼らの行動を制止しようとしたアメリカ兵が殺されたりする場面などで「グエムル」なみの釣り合い（アメリカへの）は取っている。自爆テロに走る人間たちの描き方もリアルだし、イラク戦争は石油のための戦争でなく、あくまで宗教戦争としているのが面白い。つまりは経典の民、ユダヤ教・キリスト教・イスラム教の確執の物語としていうわけである。

アクションはクライマックスで「ＲＰＧ」ががんがん飛ぶ銃撃戦で、これは迫力たっぷり。ああいう武器がこう使われるのかと感心をも。自爆テロのすさまじさも壮絶そのものだ。ただ意外に取っ組み合いの演出が弱い。

欠点はたしかにある。しかしそんなに言われるほど観て「反米」を感じたりはしない。今の注等状況のむずかしさを「娯楽」の形で公開した映画としては大いに注目すべき一本だ。

実際に起きた「The Hood Event」事件から始まるストーリー。製作年と製作国を見ただけで、ある種の「作風」は推しはかれるものの、やはり実際観てみると、やはり驚かざるを得なかった。「反アメリカサイド」が描いたアメリカ、彼らにとってのアメリカを、非常に興味深く観た。

「アメリカ代表」的立場の人物サム（ビリー・ゼイン）。これを演じきった役者ビリー・ゼインに拍手を送る。複雑な心境ではなかったか？彼のインタビューや「製作秘話」など、是非観たかった、聞きたかった。
もう一方の元トルコ秘密諜報員ポラット（ネジャーティ・シャシュマズ）の行為とて、必ずしも「正義」ではないとは思うが、トルコの人々にはもちろん、ほかのイスラム諸国の人々にはきっとヒーローなのだろう。

興味深かったのは、敵対する者同士が、共に「それぞれの神」に対しとても信心深い信徒であった事。共に神を心に持ちながら、憎しみ合い、殺し合う矛盾が、痛ましい。
唯一、アラブ族長ケルクーキ導師だけは、イスラムの代表的立場に居ながら、実に正確に物事を判断していたと思う。

当然のようにアメリカサイドからの話ばかりを目にし耳にすることが多い中、この作品を観ることで、視点の異なる捉え方というものを体験させてもらった。

アメリカ軍を一方的な悪者にしたい狙いが露骨過ぎ。
言うなればイラク版・逆ランボーでしょうか(笑)
でもヒーローはいないのでああいう快活さもないッス。

予算のせいか作り自体はお粗末で北朝鮮あたりのカルトムービーみたい。
ダラダラとアメリカへの恨み節ばかりでてきてかえって滑稽。
ここのレビューに騙されて観ましたが星ひとつの人のレビューが
一番正直で的を得ていたように思います・・(;'Д`)
そっち信じればよかったなあ、当然自分もこの作品に星はつけられませんし
お勧めはできません、組織票を信じるなかれデス。
