2007年8月、とある動画サイトにとある動画が投稿された。それは、生後2ヶ月になる5匹の子猫たちが何の変哲もない土鍋の中にすっぽりと丸まって幸せそうに眠る姿だった。その動画はまたたく間に話題となり、数十万に及ぶ再生回数を記録した。噂を聞きつけたテレビ・新聞・雑誌などからの取材が相次ぎ、「ねこ鍋」は広く日本中に知られることとなった。この「ねこ鍋」動画を編集しDVD化したのが本作品だ。土鍋の中でスヤスヤと眠る子猫の姿を観ているだけでじんわりと心が癒される。一つの鍋で何匹もの子猫たちがじゃれあっている姿もかわいい。このDVDは猫好きのみならず、日々の生活に疲れ癒しが必要な現代人にとっても最適だろう。（仲村英一郎）

ネットで出回る動画を楽しく拝見し、ＤＶＤを購入しましたが、
・ＤＶＤディスクはケースから外しにくい。
・商業カメラマンが撮影したことを疑うような画面のブレ。
被写体はずし。
・「ねこ鍋」映像は、最後のほうだけ。あとは遊んでる映像。
・原作にあった、例えば「ねこ鍋の作り方」といった笑いを
惹起するテロップは一切なし。延々と単調なＢＧＭが流れるだけ。

よっぽど飼い主のエレファントさんの撮った動画のほうが
味わいがあったし、猫に対する愛情を感じ取れました。
「やられる」のなら、猫たちの愛らしい表情やしぐさにヤられた
かったですね。特典映像のほうに当初の動画が入っていますが
ＴＶサイズでは、かなりボヤケるのが難点。

勝手に新作のねこ鍋が見られると期待していたので、ちょっとショック。もちろんねこはカワイイ…。だが、本編はただただ、ふつうの猫ビデオ。ああ、かわいいねぇ。でおわりです。もう少し、それぞれの猫のキャラが見えてくれば面白かったかも。特典映像がエレファントさんのねこ鍋が入っていましたが、プロがとったと思われる本編より、やはりエレファントさんの画のほうが数段上。本編と特典が逆じゃないかな？と思っちゃいました。

本編約30分のうち，鍋に関連した場面は10分程度で
内容もニコニコで見られる物の方が充実している

特別編としてupされている動画がそのままDVDにも
収録されているが，DVDの画質で見ると汚く見ていられない

結論としては全くオススメのできない内容である
