   上橋菜穂子の同名小説を原作に、女用心棒バルサ（安藤麻吹）と“精霊の守り人”となる運命のチャグム（安達直人）の旅を描く異世界ファンタジーTVアニメーションのDVD第4弾。第七話「チャグムの誓い」共に居を構えて暮らすことになったバルサとチャグム。久々に穏やかさが主となる回だが、そこでチャグムは何をするにもお金が必要な市井の生活に驚きつつ、世間知らずな自分を思い知らされる……。第八話「刀鍛冶」バルサはボロボロになった槍を直すため、チャグムを連れて名匠と謳われる鍛冶屋（堀勝之祐）の許へ赴く。宮にも刀を納める鍛冶は、バルサが生きていることを宮に知らせないわけにはいかないという…。特筆すべきはやはりこの第八話で、終始静けさの中に緊迫感を讃え続ける演出の妙。鍛冶が語り続ける武人の話が後半のメインとなるが、名優・堀勝之祐の貫禄ある声に聞きほれるのみ。本作がアクションのみならず精神性を重んじたものであることを改めて知らしめる名エピソードたりえている。（増當竜也）

緊張と緊迫感が絶頂に達したときに問われたある一言。
妙に引き付けられる緊迫感に息をのみましたが、その一言で“刀”そのものだけではなく“刀の神髄”を知り尽したあの鍛冶屋にだからこそ、その答えを導くことができたのは言うまでもない。

『双方から話は聞かせてもらいました』
一歩でも誤っていれば全てが終わりかけていたに違いないあの緊張の場を一瞬にして変え、且つ敵である者たちから全ての“答え”を導いた鍛冶屋の“あなた”こそ、本当の強者と言えるでしょう。

と言われても何のことか分からないでしょう。それはこの巻を拝見した後に感じる事ですからね。

7話目の『チャグムの決意』に関しても本当に小さき事なかれど“一つの子供の成長”を十分に見せてくれました。チャグムの決意の一言の後にバルサが言った言葉に私自身も凄く安心させられました。チャグム自身が一生懸命に考えて中々言えずにいたのをバルサの一言に涙し、どれほど安堵した事でしょう…‥。
激しい戦闘等なくとも、こういった胸に何かしら残る作品であればもう言うことはありません。
この巻に限らず、どの話にしても中々見応えがあります。上質な大人向けの作品、1話も見逃さずに見て欲しい事この上ないです。

是非、お薦め致します。

原作にないストーリーが続きますが、原作の雰囲気を生かした良いできになっていると思います。２話収録でこの値段は、最初高いと考えましたが、回を重ねることに、その値段に見合うぶんだけの中身はあると感じてきました。

原作本は読んだ　おのおのの人が自分のイマジネーションで楽しみますが
このアニメは　作り手のイマジネーションを受けてみんなで感動を共有できるのが
いいですねー
新ヨゴの国の人や自然が細かく描かれてて、とんぼが沢山飛び交う場面、蛙が跳ねてるとこ、空の雲の動き、棚田、豊かな自然を感じられ　素敵です。
食物も食べてみたいと思うぐらい　リアルです。
