マイアミを拠点に長い間ラテン音楽を世界に発信してきた
グロリアですが、そろそろ衰えてきたのかな？っと思っていた
矢先のニューアルバムの発売。そして聴いてびっくり！
最高の仕上がりではないか！過去のスパニッシュアルバムは
『ミ・ティエラ（1993）』『アブリエンド・プエルタス（1995）』
『アルマ・カリベーニャ（2000）』の３枚の他に数枚の
ベスト盤があるが、『90マイル』はこれまでの最高のアルバム
といっても良い。とにかく現代キューバ音楽の粋がぎっしり
詰まっており、最高のキューバ出身のミュージシャン達が
グロリアと一体となって熱く語りかけてくるようだ。キューバ色を
より鮮明に打ち出したこのアルバムは、いわばグロリアの集大成に
見えてならない。いいかえれば、ラテン音楽の特に女性ヴォーカリストに
絶対的なスターが存在しない今、まだまだグロリアがラテン音楽界の女王に
居座り続けなければならないが。ラテン系アメリカ人をはじめ、
多くのラテンアメリカ諸国のファンの期待を裏切らないグロリアが素敵だ。
あまりにも嬉し過ぎるグロリアのニューアルバムの出来に終始大満足でした。

先行リリースでシングルとしてスマッシュヒットとなった『No Llores』はもちろん、
他に『Pintame』『Lo Nuestro』がいいですね。絶対買いの14曲で駄曲は一切なし！

グロリア・エステファンの新作が聴けるなんて嬉しい限りだ。
「９０マイル」とはフロリダとキューバの最短距離のことで
「ミ・ティエラ」以来のキューバ回顧作であり
７年ぶりのスペイン語作品にワクワクしてしまう。

キューバ系をはじめ、アメリカで活躍するラテン系ミュージシャンの
オンパレードといった感じの本作は、まずサンタナのギターに驚きだ。
思えばラテンのリズムに初めて触れたのがサンタナであった私としては
“泣かないで”の１曲でグッときた。

スロウからミディアムテンポのじっくり聴かせる曲や
ステージ映えしそうなにぎやかなナンバーまで
まさにラテンポップの王道といった感じで
衰えを知らない彼女の潤いたっぷりの歌声に、またまた驚きだ。
けれど重厚なルンバで盛り上がる終盤は
ちょっと歌に力入りすぎじゃないの・・・と思えてしまう。

昔、夢中で聴いていた「ミ・ティエラ」の
繊細な情感というか、ひたむきさのようなものは
もはや過ぎ去りし日の遠い想い出でしかないのだろうか・・・。

そんなの期待する方がおかしいですよね・・・。

いつまでもあなたを聴き続けます・・・。
