内容紹介

福島県、磐梯山のふもとの小さな田舎町に暮らす高校生・君子(多部未華子)の夢は、「宝塚音楽学校」に入ることであった。
母子家庭の君子の家は、母・和代(秋野暢子)が生計を支え、君子が祖父・幸太郎(笑福亭松之助)を介護していた。そんな中、君子は密かに郡山のバレエ教室に通っており、君子と同じ演劇部の勇介(濱田岳)は、君子の宝塚志望を偶然知り驚く。
そんなある日、君子がバレエ教室に通っていることが和代に知られてしまい、君子が宝塚を目指す意外な理由が明らかになる・・・。
松本剛の同名人気コミックを原作に、将来の夢や不安を抱えながら現実と向き合う地方都市の高校生たちの心の揺れをリリカルに描く。

今改めて見返してみると、まだTV出演の少なかった頃の、多部未華子の演技がみずみずしいです。しかし、この作品は多部未華子ファンだけではなく、万人に訴えかけるなにかを持っていると思います。

化粧気もなく朝から晩までスーパーで働く母。介護が必要な祖父。父は家を出て行った。君子は宝塚へ入るという夢のためにバレエ教室へ通い、自分の仕事である祖父への介護をおろそかにしてしまう。

学校でも、隠していた宝塚への夢を暴露されたことから、学友とも衝突してしまう。そんな君子を救ってくれたのは、やはり演劇部の学友だった。そして自分の隠された本当の動機に気づく。そして、「すみれ」のような、誠実さ、控えめさを、君子は取り戻すのだった。

磐梯山のふもとで撮られた豊かな自然が印象的。その他にも、このドラマは心に残る場面が多い。バレエ教室の帰り、電車の窓に映る自分の姿を見て、バレエのステップを踏む君子。花のワルツに合わせ汗を光らせながら踊る君子。宝塚への思いを巡って、母親や学友と激しくやり合う場面。ストーブのほの暗い灯りを見つめながら、友と思いを語り合う夜。宝塚受験が許されたと言って、それまでとは打って変わって弾ける様に喜ぶ君子。そしていよいよ宝塚へと出発する早朝のシーンも忘れがたい。そして春の陽光の下、ラストシーンでの何ともいえない清清しさ。

「山路きて　なにやらゆかし　すみれ草」。芭蕉のこの句のように、たまたま見た一片のドラマからも、思いがけない大切な何かを見つけることが出来るかもしれません。

寂れた雪の町で、望みの薄い夢を抱いて、現実とのギャップに鬱屈とした日々をおくる可憐なヒロインを多部未華子が熱演。母に内緒でバレエのレッスンを続ける姿がいじらしく、宝塚を目指してることを周りに茶化され、濱田岳君の顔面に硬い雑誌で(本気の!)一撃をくらわすとこや、「…この町が嫌い!…みんな嫌いッ!」と言い放つシーンの凜烈な声の張りこそまさに多部未華子の真骨頂! 「…私ってずるい!…私、汚い!」全てをぶちまけて泣くクライマックスの大泣きが胸にグッと響きます。…… エンディングには坂本美雨、はかなく消えた青春の夢の名残りが、穏やかな美声に癒されて、心地よい余韻を残します。…

家族への嫌悪
同級生への蔑み

それが君子に「ここではないどこか」を求めさせた。
しかし、自分の「ずるさ」や「汚さ」を自覚したときに全てが違って見えた。
君子は成長したのだ。

・・・そこからの物語は視聴者に委ねられている。

どなたかが「このドラマは詩である」と評したが、磐梯山を中心とした雄大な景観が
それを納得させる。
