初めて聴いてびっくりしました。なんだこの変わり様は!?という感じです。


ネットで新曲を事前に全く聴かなかったし聴いた人の感想とかも知らなくて、前作『ソーロングアストリア』が疾走感と切なさが絶妙なバランスで素晴らしかっただけに、今作もかなり期待していましたが、最初聴いた時点では置いていかれた気分になりました。


クリスの声が低く、前作との変化にびっくりします。声に年齢的な色気?が出て落ち着いたといえば聞こえはいいですが、終始同じトーンでメリハリがないように感じました。それはどの曲も曲調が似てるのが原因だと思います、全体を通して変化があまりないです。前作のようなテンポの早い曲調のものはありません。


暗めな曲調の曲も大好きですが、全曲を通してだと聴いてるとつい次のトラックにとばしてしまいます・・・。(ごめんなさい)


前作からかなり年月も経っているので、変化もあって当然かと思いますが消化するのに時間がかかりそうです。私は前作と同じ物を求めていた気持ちが強いせいかこの変化に戸惑いました。おそらく前作に比べてかなり好き嫌いはっきりしてしまうのではなかろうかと思います。



一曲一曲は悪くはないけれども、前作のような初めて聴いた時に衝撃的な気持ちに襲われるような曲は私は残念ながらありませんでした。



前作は他のバンドにはない何かが確かにあったのに、このアルバムは他のバンドとの差別化ができずに終わった気がしてしかたありません。


大好きなバンドだけに、理解したいって気持ちはあるので頑張って聴いて理解できるようになりたいです。


アルバムが出たばかりで不謹慎ですが解散せずに、活動していってほしいです。アタリスの落ち着きぶりはこんな不安も感じさせてしまうほどでした。次回作ではいい意味で期待を裏切ってほしいです。

Blue Skies〜の頃からのファンですが、この作品はEnd Is Foreverをより進化させたような感じに近いと思います。ブックレットも似たような作りになっていますし、何よりもこの変化の大きさが似ています。

曲は、Welcome the NightはSo Long, Astoriaのようなポップでキャッチーなメロディを期待したら裏切られてしまうと思います。今作ではフロントマンであるKristopher Roeの目指す音楽がよりUKロックよりになってきているような気がします。

バンドのMyspaceでも好きなバンドにたくさんのUKロックのバンドが出てきているのも納得の出来になっています。でもそこはatarisです。きちんとこのバンドにしか出せない切ないメロディーを聞かせてくれます。

歌詞は、以前からよく恋愛、人間関係についての歌詞だけでなく幻想的で映画的な歌詞になっています。

今作で一番私が驚いたのがSo Long, Astoriaからバンドに加入したJohn Colluraが素晴らしい楽曲を書いていることです。特に12. Begin Again From The Beginningなんかはatarisの新しい方向性が見られる曲に仕上がっています。

Kristopher Roeの見た夢をコンセプトにした今作品。どのような夢をみたのか？それは是非とも購入して、ブックレットにある素敵な写真や歌詞を見ながら想像してみましょう。きっといい夢をみれるはずです。

通算アタリスの5作目のアルバム。前回のアルバム、ソーロングアストリアがかなり良かったからそれなりに今回の作品も期待してたら。メンバーも7人に増え、チェロ、バイオリン奏者も正式に加入したとのことでちょっと不安になった。不安は的中。前回まで疾走感はまるで無く、クリス・ローの歌い方も変わり。アタリスはアルバム出すごとにメンバーも変わっているが、この作品は今までの作品の中で一番の駄作。全体的にマンネリしすぎ。これが彼らの行き着く場所だったのなら僕はかなりショックだ。1stから聴いてるファンだったら分かるはず。
アタリス初心者は絶対にこのアルバムから入らない方が良い。しかし聴けば聴くほど良く聴こえてくるかもしれない可能性も否定できない。これからの期待を込めて星1つ。この作品は非常につまらない
