　まだこのアルバムを聴いていないビートルズ・ファンがうらやましい、そんな作品です。
　ご存知イギリスのお笑い番組「モンティ・パイソン」のから産まれたビートルズのパロディ・バンド、ラトルズの1978年のデビュー作です（正確には78年の映画"All You Need Is Cash"＜ビートルズのヒストリーのパロディ>のサントラです）。
　「パロディ」と言っても侮ることなかれ、帯に「数あるビートルズのパロディ・アルバムで音楽的に最も高く評価されている」という風に書かれていますが、実際本家ビートルズよりもいいんじゃないか？と思えるほどいい曲もあります。もちろんパロディとしても非常に高水準です。世の中には「全然似ていないよ？」とか「同じでしょ？」と言いたいもの・また全然笑えない「自称パロディ」が多いですが、ここで聴けるラトルズの曲は原曲との距離の取り方が絶妙で、その微妙なバランス感覚に唸らされます。芸術性とパロディを両立させた稀な作品と言ってよいでしょう。
　ということで、「ビートルズの全曲を一応聴いている」というビートルズ・ファンの方なら非常に楽しめると思います（2006年に出た"Love"を聴きながら原曲を探すような楽しみがあると思います）。
　なお、この紙ジャケは（以前ライノ社から出ていたジャケと異なり）オリジナルを正確に復刻しているのが嬉しいところですね。オリジナル同様にダブル・ジャケットで、オリジナル同様の16ページのブックレットが封入されています。解説こそ付いていませんが、ブックレットの長い長い英文が全訳されております。CDはライノ社と同じヴァージョン、つまり曲数はオリジナルより多いですが、曲順・編集が異なります。オリジナル・アルバムのは冒頭にSEが入りそれなりに流れを考えて作ってあったはずですが、ここではその辺がオリジナルと異なります。また、比較的面白みに欠ける曲まで全て収録し、「作品」としてのトータル性が薄くなってるように思われます。個人的には内容まで徹底してオリジナルに忠実に作って欲しかったので、この点が非常に残念ですね。この点と価格が高すぎる点で星を減点しましたが、それでも価値ある作品ですし、ビートルズのファンの方には躊躇わずオススメします。

ただし音の方が、まんま前のCDのまま。

カウント付きの「ホールド・マイ・ハンド」や、映像に収録されているロンのソロ曲(足の歌)の収録を期待していたんだけど…

カウント付きいえば「オール・マイ・ラヴィング」にもカウント付き未CD化のテイクがありましたね…まさかそれもパロディ!?

この紙ジャケは絶対買いです FAB4が大好きなおいらにとってラトルズのこのalbumとUtopia「Deface The Music」はBeatlesParodyの最高峰 でも本当に楽曲,録音など研究されてますねぇ 生前ジョンレノンは「モンティーパイソンに参加したい」と言ってまして このラトルズのDVDにはある役に扮してジョージが出演しています 本家まで登場するとはサスガです
