正直言ってガッカリだった。原作はかなり好きなので、アニメ化も期待していたのに……。
まず、個人的にはキャラクターデザインが微妙。「これならあさぎ桜さんのキャラデザの意味がないのでは？」と思う。
出てくるキャラも、原作と違う時がたまにある。
バトルシーンも微妙かな……。シリアスなシーンの戦闘でも、なんか笑える。
何よりも嫌なのが、一冊の原作を約3回に分けて製作し、充分に時間があるはずなのに、ドラマCDの約60分間で表現できていた空気感や“間”が表現し切れていないと思えること。感動シーンのはずなのに、無駄なシーンの詰め込みすぎで、とりあえず脚本(の台詞)をキャラに喋らせるだけで精一杯、という感じがする。ストーリーも所々はしょっている。
個人的に、OPは合っていないような気がする。EDはまだ許せるかもしれないが……(ていうか慣れただけ)。
式盤などの小道具の考証(？)や、ドラマCD通りの豪華キャストを揃えた事に敬意を表して星1つ。
原作に忠実にキャラやストーリーが動く事を希望する人にはお勧めできない。

　ライトノベル版の原作の方も読ませていただきまして、その上でＤＶＤを見させてもらいまして、
率直に思った事は、形態が微妙に違うだけで、これは「萌え作品」なのではないか？
　確かに萌え作品という物は「かわいい女の子」がメインで扱われるべき物ですが、本来「萌え」
とは、「木々が芽吹く様」を表現する言葉であり、その対象が男女決定しなければならない決まり
は無いですし、原作含めて女性支持層が大勢を占めるとも聞き及んでおります。
　家庭や社会に反発しながらも大きくなる１０代の姿を描く。
　一般的な萌えアニメもそういう主人公の周りにどういう女性を配置するかといえば知性を醸し
だすタイプだったり（メガネっ娘とか）、スポーツ万能ボーイッシュだったりですよ。
　紅蓮とか六合とか、それに該当しないでしょうか？
　その様な根拠から私、この作品萌えアニメであると考えているのですが、いかがでしょうか？

主人公の声優についてだが、普通の時はいいが、調伏の時は素人丸出し。
読み方も実際の陰陽師とは違う読み方をしていたり若干の違和感がある。
萌えの要素はひとつもない
